Scammer Alert: Content sellers beware

This guy bought a good chunk of content from me, paid with paypal but then had his bank charge back the amount claiming unauthorized access. After filing several documents to paypal's resolution investigation such as chat transcripts, email copies and the IP from which he connected to my server I actually won, and got my money back.

"We have completed our investigation of the transaction below and were
unable to find evidence of unauthorized access to the buyer?s account. This
case was denied to the buyer and no funds were recovered from your account."

Awesome.

Anyway, he is using the nickname preliatorlumen and the same for his AIM account. His name is Joshua Smith (supposedly) and he is using the email [email protected]. I have found one person on facebook which corresponds to both the name and the jesmith88 tag. Now keep in mind I am not sure this is the person but I will link anyway since I am pretty certain it is. http://www.facebook.com/jesmith88

Thanks for the heads up.

Geez man! Crappy thing to have happened, but I am glad you got to win the dispute!

~Ray 01-02-2011 07:01 AM

good job with the dispute. I bet he didn't see that coming.

u-Bob 01-02-2011 07:25 AM

thanks for the heads up... if you have any more info on him, be sure to post it...

Klen 01-02-2011 07:47 AM

Good to know you keeping logs.

woj 01-02-2011 07:53 AM

that really sux, the only person i had do that to me in 7 years of selling content was BAREFOOTSIE..I was able to keep the money, but his fake dispute got my account flagged.

Paul Markham 01-02-2011 08:30 AM

Well done for getting your money back. Another scum bag revealed. Until he changes his profile.

I look into all new big buyers with a fine tooth comb. Freemail is a red flag.

The logs I sent them contained detailed discussion outlining the deal as well as links to both gfy and my sample pages so there is no question that they knew it was an adult related transaction. I took a risk sending the logs to them but I was not going to let him get away with it without a fight.

What was barefootsies reason for charging back and how were you able to stop the refund?

Asked and answered more than a dozen times (and 2 Bar Synister bannings :thumbsup) in other threads, every time this clown shoe brings this shit up crying about it.

He can try and smear me all he likes. In the end it comes down to him bold face lying to both myself, and DT, for months about where the license was. It was not until I forced the dispute, I received what I had asked for.

After two months of waiting for my signed license, being lied to countless times that it was in the mail, or on the way, sending out Monday, whatever I filed the dispute to force his hand. Something he could have prevented in the first place by sending me what was asked for in a timely fashion, and he had told me many times "was in the mail".

What I did, was the same as anyone else would have done. Anyone looking at Simon's/sologirlcontent past can see that LYING about shit is nothing new.

Carry on.
:pimp

Thanks for the heads-up and congrats on keeping your funds where they belong. Say what you want about Paypal but they really know their stuff and always reward GOOD merchants without very good support. 'Pal's worth their fees.

JustDaveXxx 01-02-2011 01:35 PM

Thanx for the heads up.

ruff 01-02-2011 01:38 PM

I have a few chargebacks with Paypal customers and I have never won. Even after detailed emails, password protected content and physically sending the product. It seems if the buyer wants to contest any transaction, Paypal just rolls over and let's them get their money back and keep the product. Paypal fucking sucks. You are lucky that you got your money, I would have given odds against it.

his reason, was he didn't get a physical copy of license, just emailed version..he already had the content months before...I sent him physcial copy, he didn't drop it, but PP sgot confirmation of fed-ex shipment...got money back.

he never sent his signed copy back for our files , leaving him with unlicensed content

Sorry toots, but your lying was what led to your own issue. The goal was never to get the money back. The goal was to get my signed license. Which I asked for repeatedly, and was told repeatedly, was in the mail. After two months of lies, I got tired of waiting.

You could have simply sent me what I asked for within a week instead of lying for 2 months. You opted to do the latter. You dug your own hold with Paypal and the dispute. Something easily avoided. Don't be crying like a little bitch because your own actions brought about consequences. You could have avoided it all together in the first place.

After reading your history on GFY for "last sale ever", or "leaving industry", "comic book or movie deals", and "sales a popping" threads.... anyone with a clue would ask for a signed license.
:2 cents:

Paypal loves money... so they usually side with the biggest account.

rabbit 01-02-2011 06:28 PM

with so much free content out there, why would anyone go through the trouble of scamming a content company?

I have several experiences like that a couple of years ago but perhaps they have upped their game when it comes to fairly judging these cases.

iSpyCams 01-04-2011 09:59 AM

I do not understand why somebody would steal content from a content seller when it is so much easier to steal it directly from torrents.

It makes no sense to me.

The only logic I can think of is that maybe non exclusive content is less likely to get you a DMCA?

I've bought a lot of non-exclusive content on this board and so far Riggo is the only person who seems to give a rat's ass where it ends up getting published.

You are right I haven't but I will get around to you shortly if my income stream holds steady.

Remind me by the end of the month I plan to pick up both your GF pic and vid package.

I have a lot of stuff from Riggo and redglamour to sort, watermark describe and upload right now plus there may be some of NaughtyRob's sets I'm not done with so when that's taken care of I'll add your stuff if you don't mind.

I don't have any issues disclosing where I deploy content BTW, its just that Riggo is the only one who's ever asked me where I planned to publish.

vegasbobby 01-04-2011 01:38 PM

good for you. Bank love to legally steal.

czarina 01-04-2011 01:44 PM

by the end of the month i will have brand new content out, won't be long anymore :)

and all i care of is that the content is used within the license restrictions - which always should be read before the purchase. if the site is called xxxxx.com or yyyyy.com is not my business :thumbsup

This scammer needs to be on display a bit more, bump.

The Duck 01-25-2011 01:28 PM

Watch out, he is online on ICQ right now. Of course not replying to my messages but it is probable that he is out there trying to scam someone at this moment.

DWB 01-25-2011 01:45 PM

He is using aim with the screen name preliatorlumen. Apparently you can talk between icq/aim accounts?
