7 Days without a Cigarette!
Stay strong! Go see a doctor if the cough persists...
until shit clears in the air valves
It's nice to smell my clothes and have them smell clean or to kiss my lady and not have her say "You smell like an ashtray!".
good man!
i'm nearly 2 month with ecigs now
congrats :thumbsup
congrats! would taking something like mucinex help?
It keeps getting better the longer you are off cigs. Stay quit the first time because it's too damn hard to quit the second time.

Coughing is a good sign, get rid of all the crap in your lungs :)

7 days for me too!
I haven't smoked or used any nicotine for 17 + months now.
The first 2 or 3 weeks is the worst. After you a while don't need a smoke any more really ... Roll with it. Drink cranberry juice it's supposed to help eliminate the nicotine. |
Smoke free for over 4 years. Smoked for 8. Your lungs are healing. You can try doing some steam inhaling if it's bad.
Good luck and don't give up, cigarettes are fucking disgusting. Looking back now I don't even know how I smoked them for so long. |
stay away from booze or you'll be right back with a cool smoke in hand
Really, congrats and hope you'll stay on the right path! :)
Congrats dawg... Beth is quitting right now also... it's a struggle, proud of both of you.
keep it up!
sometimes an endorphin hit from a fast run can give you a natural high. |
keep it up.,
u can do it. dont go for e cig., it wont help., u will eventually end up on regular cig. |
Keep it up.... You will achieve the goal finally the first three weeks are the worst period.... You will pass them...
I quit smoking over a year ago, without any prolonging tools
good luck! :thumbsup youll know if you really want to stop killing yourself and see that it really affects your body |
brew some tea like lipton drink it cold or hot. it will help clean your system out. good luck.
my quitting record is 3 days :disgust
good job mate!
Congrats! One of the best things about quiting besides your health and being told you smell like an ash tray is getting that monkey off your back.
You might be able to retire early now with all that money you will be saving... |
congrats!!!! im trying too!!
avoid confrontation for the next month lol, I used to get horrible mood swings the first month or so and my jaw almost got dislocated from chewing the nicortte gums
never smoked cigs, but when I quit smoking from a bong it took about 3 months of coughing up black shit.... never ever again!!!!

I tried the e-cigs, but ended up with a raging cough from that since it injects steam into your lungs along with nicotine. I also read that any quitting aids only prolong the terror of quitting and drag-out the withdrawals, since they keep a small amount of nicotine in your system, it keeps you in withdrawal state for as long as you use them. I tried the gum and patches, but after a couple days, I quit those also and decided to Raw-Dog it... commando style.
So far, on Day 8 now, it seems to be getting easier, except for if I get into confrontation as Antonio mentioned, those times... I found that if you just go bang it out w/ your GF (or whoever), all is well. Thanks for all the support! :) I'm glad to see that others are quitting also. |

10 to 20 per day to... 5 to 10 per day to... 1 to 5 per day to... 1 to 4 per day to... 1 to 3 per day.... And the occasional 1 or 2 cigs per day, but it was VERY difficult to break 1 to 3. Anyhow, I started with forcing myself to NOT have the habitual smokes... 1. When I wake up. 2. After food. 3. When first getting into a car. 4. After sex. 5. With coffee. 6. With alcohol. 7. When taking breaks. And so on. When those times would come around, I would simple not smoke, and would wait until after the craving passed to have a cig. That has helped with quitting a lot more than I probably realize. I think if I were still a pack-a-day, I don't know that I would be able to do it. So, just an FYI for anyone else looking to quit... The hard part is breaking the habit, if you do that before you try quitting, your chances increase significantly of quitting for good. |
Kuddos for all of you trying to quit
I need to do the same |
have you started exercising?
Doing cardio daily really helped me see my health coming back and kept me off the cigs. The improvments are amazingly fast |

I don't know anything about those e-cigs but it sounds like they are along the same thing. You will get the nicotine but the steam/vapor will actually help you. It's a real bitch though, you'll cough like you've never coughed before. I can only assume that it would help clean your lungs faster. I was never a cig smoker like I said but holy shit I was a heavy bong smoker and 2-3 months of vaporizing I never felt soooo good in my life! good luck! congrats on choosing to be healthy! |
