KATIE Price is divorcing Alex Reid because she does not love him as much as she did her ex Peter Andre.

Katie Price and Alex Reid yesterday prepared an ?imminent? statement announcing the end of their 11-month marriage.

Insiders said they would release it as soon as they have thrashed out the finer details of their split. It is understood that Kate pushed for the permanent break-up after telling Alex: ?I just don?t love you any more.?

She also told pals: ?Alex will never live up to Pete. I just don?t feel the same about him.?

Kate is said to have been tipped over the edge after Peter, 37, went public over his new relationship with sexy Elen Rivas, 35.

Cage-fighter Alex is said to be devastated and has been trying to talk her out of making the news public in the hope of making their marriage work.

But ruthless Jordan, 32, still instructed her team to draw up the statement.

She delayed releasing it yesterday after the news was leaked at noon.

The latest twist in their stormy marriage came days after Kate said on Twitter that she and Alex were dealing with a ?crisis? in their relationship.

And last week her spokesman said they were trying to ?deal with their issues?.

Sources close to the pair revealed that they were in talks with their lawyers for most of yesterday.

But grim-faced Alex, 35, was seen leaving the family home in Woldingham, Surrey, alone for a trip to the gym around lunchtime.

An insider said: ?Kate wants everything to be dealt with quickly. She doesn?t want this divorce to be drawn out like it was with Peter.

?But Alex is desperate to hang on and keep trying and is really battling to make Kate change her mind.

?However, she is being almost robotic about this and has shed any kind of emotion she has in a bid to deal with it.

?She is telling everyone she always knew it wasn?t for real in a way.?

Even yesterday, as the split news emerged, Kate ignored the issue on Twitter, thanking her fans for sponsoring her to do the London Marathon.

She then added: ?I love 80s and 90s music woooo.?

The Daily Star told you days after she and Alex wed last February that the rebound marriage would not last.

They got hitched in Las Vegas five months after meeting and just two months after she dumped him on live TV on I?m A Celebrity.

We revealed that Alex knew nothing of the wedding plans until their plane landed in Sin City.

Five days after they wed, we told how Alex was looking into getting the marriage annulled over fears they had moved too fast.

Kate even told Alex in a magazine interview soon after they tied the knot: ?He needs to milk it while he can.?

And Peter even admitted that, a few weeks before she married Alex, Kate had called him to tell him she did not want to be with the fighter any more.

But the pair went on to have a public wedding blessing in July, filmed for an ITV2 reality show.

Just two weeks later, Kate told that she had her wedding ring from Peter made into a bangle that she wore every day.

In November Kate was pictured without her new ring while Alex said he wanted to write a tell-all book.

Last month we also revealed that Kate and Alex only delayed the split until after Christmas for the sake of her kids.
