WebTV user can't play videos in members area
I had no idea anybody still used WebTV but my luck I have an old guy who does and he joined my site. He can't play the WMV videos in the members area he says, WebTV's media player can play WMV versions 7-9 files. I copied one of the videos from the members area to an unprotected location and he could play the video fine.
any idea why he can't play the same file inside the members area? thanks |
Wow WebTV :D
|
Give him his money back.

Sorry, I used to know the answer to that question, then Y2K came along and . . .

I had that problem on my amateur site. WebTV is not sending the username and password from it's built in video player. You have to have the videos outside the password protected area for WebTV users to view them.

A refund is in order.

ha i'm not refunding him, i'll put all the videos outside the members area for him.
he claims he was a member of Alison Angel and could play videos from within the members area. not familiar with how her members area is set up, maybe the videos aren't protected by htaccess. |
You're trying to find a solution for the only guy that uses WebTV in the world?
|
wtf webtv is still around? that sucks

i had problems loading up flash on my commodore 64 earlier today. tape drive got stuck and had to type "LOAD FLASH" and "RUN" and it worked. lol
Webtv, Amiga, Commodore 64 FTW |
God, webtv users make me want to slit my throat. I haven't had to deal with one for about a year or so. The good news is they've stopped signing up new people for a while now. You can't buy the hardware anymore so they're just providing the service to existing customers until it's completely phased out.
