Are there any pc gurus here? PLEASE??
My computer is driving me out of my mind and I can't figure out for the life of me how to fix it. I do NOT feel like formatting it right now.
It is a Dell with Windows 7 on it.... I have set it to not ever go into sleep mode and all the settings seem to be right for that. HOWEVER, if I walk away from it for any length of time, it'll go into sleep mode and I have to power it down and back up to get it to come back on. The power light on the tower stays on, but it won't let me bring it out of it without completely powering it down and back up. Which is a huge pain because I always lose my files I was working on when I walked off. Has anyone had this problem or heard of it that would be able to point me in the right place to make it stop? I looked at log files, doesn't seem to show any errors that would make it do it, it just does it. |
Change the settings so it doesn't go into sleep mode?

Turn every power saver thing off... sleep, hibernate, shut down times, monitor shut offs, etc - all of them off. Once you confirm it's off, then set it how you want.
Then jump into the advanced tab in the power saver menu, and set your HD's to not sleep. That's one reason the machine won't wake up when you come back... |
