Went to Yosemite
 

We decided to go up to Yosemite National Park for the weekend. The main reason is because for two weeks in February, Horsetail Falls puts on a pretty cool light show. It is only visible for a few minutes at sunset, and requires just enough water and no clouds for the phenomenon to appear. While we spoke with several people that have tried for many years to see it, we got it on our first try.

Great photo!

We just got back from another day there. We spent 3.5 hours waiting for the light show to begin. All looked well, until about 5 PM, then clouds started coming in and I started loading things in the car.

goodgirl wanted to stick it out. Around 5:30 I could see some color hitting the rocks so I set up again and wow. I am glad we stuck it out. Should be some great shots of Horsetail Falls. Tomorrow, we will do the rest of the park.

Make sure you get a few shots of El Capitain. It's the largest freestanding chunk of granite in the World.

Imagine what a loss it would be if the politicians had their way and that was all just a lake and a dam to make power? Thank you, tree huggers.

Actually, they are trying to bring it back to its original state. Even got rid of the man made lake.
