Obesity and Hernias: How to Reduce Your Likelihood of Developing a Hernia
Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Park toward the back of the parking lot. |
Had one a couple of years ago (umbilical hernia) and it was quite painful before the operation. After the operation, the first 2 weeks were extremely painful, taking a shit was tantamount to sticking knives into my abdomen.
It's amazing how often you use your core for even the smallest of movements. Now it's fantastic and do not have a problem ever with it. Also hernia's are caused by a whole number of factors, anyone who is ignorant enough to think hernia = obesity is obviously an idiot/troll. |

For the longest I thought it was a pulled groin muscle... |

Yea i gotta go to the docs, i got something going on thats for sure..

if its big enough hopefully it is get the mesh. doctors will tell you they can stitch it but you want the mesh it will rule out human error. its a simple operation put you out for an hour and your home in 2. it will feel like someone hit you in the stomach for a week or two. you cant lift anything. I was back exercising in 2 weeks. If its hurting you might have some complications. its basically a tear in the muscle that holds your insides inside. if you get an intestine caught in there that could be bad. research and find a good doctor. costs vary from 5k to 20k depending on the hospital. its very common and normally no big deal. i had mine done in Austin Texas if your there by any chance hit me up and I'll get you the doctor I used. He rocked. I had almost 0 pain.
|
I've had one for years. It only acts up when I lift something heavy then it goes away. Well...it doesn't 'go away' but it doesn't cause me any pain.
|
they can treat it with sound now, that is much safer then a operation. Google for it, i know its done in belgium.

Had one as a baby, so I don't recall that. My brother had one a couple of years ago. The best advice I can give is to buy some stool softener pills now to have on hand after the surgery.
|
Had two a few years apart. Both were repaired at Shouldice Hospital in Toronto. That's all they do there - repair hernias. It's like a country club, but it is a world class surgical hospital for hernia repairs - everyone wears a name tag and they are there from all over the world.

Never had one myself, but worked in a hospital for 15 yrs and also my dad suffered from it before. All I can say is once you get it fixed and you recover from the procedure you'll feel one hell of a lot better than you did when you had it.
One hell of a lot better. Good luck. Not that you'll need it. I just like saying "good luck" whenever someone goes into surgery. |
Charlie from 2manandthehalf had that shit
