How did I ever enjoy Aerosmith?

I hear them now and pretty much change the channel.

Rochard 02-22-2011 08:53 AM

I was never a huge Aerosmith fan, but for some reason I was listening to them yesterday and rocking out.

Why did you like them? Because you were young and that was your musical taste then?

their older stuff had more balls.. all that crap they came out with in the 90's + was kind of shit.. same thing happened to the chilipeppers i find.

more money in sappy songs for the older folk i guess...

What? You didn't find "Pink" to be intellectually moving? :winkwink:

Tom_PM 02-22-2011 11:14 AM

The real iconic stuff is from the 70's I think. I never liked any of the later stuff.. Love in an elevator? cheesy.. Dude looks like a lady? Wtf..

billywatson 02-22-2011 11:16 AM

The same way we all did -- we were young and stupid.

100% agree after they got out of rehab and started spewing out garbage like dude looks like a lady it was over. the classic stuff was killer though

I still like Aerosmith but when I saw them live a couple years back for the first time I was really disappointed. I don't think I would go see them again unless it was a show in Boston.

nikki99 02-22-2011 11:28 AM

NETbilling 02-22-2011 11:58 AM

They have had a ton of great songs over the years and shitty ones too but I enjoy them still (the older tunes mostly).

fuzebox 02-22-2011 12:05 PM

Maybe you're getting old? :winkwink:

CaptainHowdy 02-22-2011 12:09 PM

It's completely healthy to outgrow rock n' roll ...

Scott McD 02-22-2011 12:13 PM

Never liked them... :2 cents:

Jerry's Intensity 02-22-2011 12:15 PM

Well, you're corny and Canadian, simple to see why you'd love them.
:winkwink:

Silver Fox for life.

chaze 02-22-2011 12:44 PM

All music gets old after a while but then one day out of no where it's awesome again.

czarina 02-22-2011 12:52 PM

I love Sex in an Elevator. Literally :D

"toys in the attic" holds up as a great album to any generation, I don't care what anyone says, that album deserves credit for great song writing, solid riffs, and tunes that made you want to ball and party like a rockstar. If you became a fan of them based on that then you have no reason to be ashamed.

If you started listening in the 90s well then you are right to feel confused. :winkwink:

"Rocks" holds up too. Other than that their body of work is spotty at best. But the same can be said for Zeppelin, Van Halen or any iconic crotch rock band

The Porn Nerd 02-22-2011 02:25 PM

'Cause the dude looks like a lady, that's why.

Seriously tho: Get their first 5 albums, a later-day "greatest hits" and you're done.

kristin 02-22-2011 02:38 PM

Come on, Living on the Edge was great! ; )

I agree with the exception of Honkin' on Bobo. That was a great album.

I never really watched Idol but Marilyn loves Steven Tyler so I have been catching a few episodes. Even though it is not a rock star gig, he is pretty down to earth on the show so its not bad to see a human side to him.

Thank to you Holly for the great award again this year. We truly value you and Cybersocket and your contributions to the industry.

I remember buying "Pump" when I first came to Panama, over 20 years ago. Memories! That album rocked, it rolled, then it rocked some more! I lost them after "Nine Lives" though. I remember when they took out "Get a Grip" they were all over MTV, back when MTV still had attitude... and music videos... Hey, kids, can you believe MTV used to be a music television network? It passed music videos!

NETbilling 02-22-2011 07:50 PM

My youngest son's name is Tyler Steven Farber

Now that is proof right there that rock and roll will never die...

Love the Stones version of that tune but that one definitely sets its own level of genius...

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 02-23-2011 12:31 AM

Aerosmith rocks!!! :thumbsup

One of my favorite rock songs of all time:

If you still do not get goosebumps hearing Steven Tyler's voice at the end, then you need to smoke what I am smoking (Lemon Thai atm)...

:stoned
