The radiation spreads over huge geographical areas. The article says that the Chernobyl radiation spread to United States within 10 days. People have to be very careful with chemistry, radiation and nuclear weapons. Otherwise, species of plants, animals or humans could become extinct. We want to preserve life on the planet.

Here in the Heartlands we are chatting about the potential influx of Kalleeforneeans as they run from the radioactive plume which may indeed come.

Could happen you know, if the shit really hits the fan in Japan.

Consensus is that they will have to stay outside.

Tough shit.

The plume could make it here as well. They cannot bring their own sanitation, they won't have brains enough to bring their own food and water..............

Whattaya do?

This could be the West Coast of the USA if things get really bad:

This is what refugees will find in the Midwest; can't be helped:

"Health and nuclear experts emphasize that radiation in the plume will be diluted as it travels and, at worst, would have extremely minor health consequences in the United States, even if hints of it are ultimately detectable."

they are cooling down reactors, but will that help it?

czarina 03-17-2011 04:52 AM

from what I've heard, the amount of radiation we'll be exposed to is equivalent to having a full mouth x-ray at the dentist. So no big deal

brassmonkey 03-17-2011 04:54 AM

Did anyone read the article?

Quote:

On Sunday, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission said it expected that no ?harmful levels of radioactivity? would travel from Japan to the United States ?given the thousands of miles between the two countries.?
