What's the difference between a splog and a blog?

What are the differences between a splog and a blog? Can anyone provide a link or two to examples of each? Please note, I am aware of the definition of a splog, but I'm looking for a little deeper understanding as it seems in many cases the line between blog and splog is pretty gray...

Thanks!

splog is a spam piece of shit using content from rss feeds. Splogs also means duplicate and saturated content.

Yeah Mamaliga is right. However, would like to add some more details there..

A splog (spam blog) is a fake blog created solely to promote affiliated Web sites, with the intent of skewing search results and artificially boosting traffic. Some splogs are written like long-winded ads for the Web sites they promote; others have no original content, featuring either nonsense or content stolen from authentic Web sites. Splogs include huge numbers of links to the Web sites in question to fool Web crawler s (programs that search the Web for sites to index). The sploggers associate popular search keywords with their pages so that the splog links turn up in blog search results and are sent out as search subscription notifications through e-mail and RSS feeds.

example : casinoclublasvegas.com/
mcafeefirewall.blogspot.com/
iro.stategove.info/
thiscanadian.com/

and Blog everyone knows well.. :)
A blog is also known as Weblog. It is a personal online diary or you can say journal which allows you to share your thoughts and ideas , you can add video, games, pictures music, you can read comments visitor leave on your blog. you can do all these things without the need of any programming knowledge.

Example : desisexclub.com
xclips.org
onlylust.com ;)

thanks

Interesting.
So, I like writing. And, (shame on me) I like porn.
That is the reason why I'm currently developing a blog-kinda-thing website (or three).

But, and let's be honest :pimp, I would not be on this board if i didn't want to convert some of my writing into money.
Will this make me a splogger?

I'm asking because I'm uncertain about the definition here.

I'm pretty sure its not a splog, because I'm going to write everything "by hand".
(As I said, I like writing. (guess I'm proving that by rambling on in this post. It could've been shorter :upsidedow))
But on the other hand, I do hope to convert some traffic into money. So, the purpose is kinda sploggy....

Thx for your time

Jolly

I run a blog where I publish links with the sole purpose of making money but I dont consider it a splog. Almost every blog has ads on it somewhere, but that doesnt make them a spam blog.

You right
I would say splog contains real spam, sometimes stupid copy&paste from other blogs. Such splogs usually contain viruses and other shit.
