Could you imagine if this happened in the USA? Christ we'd never hear the end of it. I have mixed feelings on the ban. On one hand it steps over a line of personal freedom, on the other, well, Europe is being swallowed up by Islamic immigrants who do not mix with the western society, but instead proselytize the population and create more muslims instead... if they do nothing their culture as they know if will be vastly transformed/erased by a hostile world view, right? Or no?

It most states it is illegal to cover your face in an attempt to hide your identity. Its not something thats enforced normally but its there.

except you can still see someones face with a yarmulke and a Jesus saves trucker hat. a burka is the same as walking around with a ski mask on which is pretty much illegal in the US.

Thailand has a bunch of people (not muslim) who wear full face coverage because its so hot outside and having dark skin is not good here.

Its also the perfect way to stab someone.

I used to live in France, and remember talking with an old lady that was very worried that they were "giving away the country" by letting so many immigrants into the country, that had no identity with the country: ie muslims and africans.

I think her fears are coming true and the burqua ban is totally acceptable. There are many ways to preserve your way of life and fight for your freedom, not all of them are done on battlefield.

Most states have an exemption written into the law about religious and medical coverings. Religion disgusts me in general so I am all for the ban anyway. You can't single out one religion though, they all have to take a hit.

oh... and ship em off to some ghettos too, so they do not pollute our superior culture further. then we'll figure out a final solution. i was thinking of a camp of some sort..? not sure this had been done before, so any ideas guys? logistics might be a problem, but i was thinking like cattle wagons.

The UK would never have to balls to even consider it. In shopping malls, airports, theme parks here you see loads of people covered up in those stupid burkas. I've always been for equality and sadly this isn't one of the situations.

They demand religious freedom when visiting or living here - but refuse to offer the same in their home country. Just should be a standard rule - you want to visit or live in a country then abide by the laws of that country

Also my best friend growing up was an immigrant from Iran. His family and their Iranian friends were warm and wonderful people. They've taught me a lot about their culture and told me many stories. They left for a reason and the wife was beautiful and happy not to be forced to cover up all in black and wear a veil ;)
