GoDaddy CEO's graphic elephant hunt video sends his clients flocking to competitors, and helps raise $20,000 for elephant charity

video of an American CEO shooting an elephant in Zimbabwe, which villagers then sliced apart for meat, has raised thousands of dollars for a conservation group after a rival Internet firm used the graphic footage to steal away customers.
The founder of Save The Elephants, Iain Douglas-Hamilton, said he was surprised but appreciative by the more than $20,000 in funds raised by Internet domain registration site Namecheap.
Namecheap offered to donate $1 for every customer who opened a new account with them, after the chief executive of their competitor GoDaddy.com appeared in the video of an elephant being killed last month.

I'm sure he paid in the high xx,xxx to be able to hunt an elephant and the money goes a long way towards helping elephants in the wild. Otherwise the village people would have killed it anyways, got no money for it, and elephants that don't need to suffer would suffer.

In conclusion if you are against him killing this elephant you are for the extinction of elephants. That is all.

I see no issue what-so-ever with killing an animal for food. In this instance there were other positive outcomes as well because now the people can eat the crops which they have been raising.

I find it comical when all of these people cry over things like this when they enjoy BEEF on a weekly basis.

If anything, this makes me want to move my domains FROM Namecheap TO Godaddy.

I don't know how you can be so sure what other people eat, but one difference is the people who kill cows, pigs or chickens generally don't video themselves and pose with the animal they've just killed. They do it because it's their job, not necessarily because they actually like killing animals.

the first "real Job" I had when I was 19 was working for Abercrombie and Kent. If you never heard of them, then you are probably not rich.

They sold all types of these safaris and I use to have the distinct pleasure of depositing the checks of MANY well known CEO's of huge companies at the time that wanted nothing more than to drop 20g's to go shoot some shit in Africa.

I also presently have the pleasure of knowing the CEO of a company who is in charge of over 8000 people who likes to spend his weekends banging hookers in Thailand while his family stays in hong kong.

So, the point is, I'd say alot of powerful people do all kinds of crazy shit and you just never hear about it.
