Does your cat go for walks with you?

I know it is common to take you dog for walks.. but, do any of you go for a walk with your cat?

Everytime I start walking in the morning, my cat "Buddy" follows along... but, it has to be before sunrise. If I get a late start, he won't follow.

The cat follows the wife, but one day a granny saw the cat and made a sound like "PPPSSSSSSS". The cat ran away and got lost

fatfoo 04-15-2011 08:10 AM

I've seen lots of cats walk on the streets without leashes and without owners. They could be wild cats or domesticated cats that escaped the house.

Nicky 04-15-2011 08:12 AM

At my mothers house when she walks the dog there is always 2 cat's following.

sadiedazzle 04-15-2011 08:19 AM

I used to walk my cat on a leash. He would jump up and down for his harness when he would see it come out.

Rochard 04-15-2011 08:23 AM

No, but I go running with my dog every morning.

I used to live in a small Quebec village and we had four cats who would all follow me whenever I was just going to the corner store/gas station.

They would never get near the pump island or the front of the store, though - they waited around the corner, one house down, and literally would peek out past the edge to see when I was coming back.

Damn that was cute.

the only thing that sucks is that he stops to smell every frickin' parked car along the way.

96ukssob 04-15-2011 08:31 AM

my gf's cat follows her around when she is home. he is scared shitless of everything possible and I'll be surprised if he lives another year without having a heart attack.

my cat on the other hand, tries to lead the way and looks back and meow's at me to make sure I am following her to what she wants, which is usually food

pornguy 04-15-2011 08:38 AM

No cats here.. Dogs eat them.

CurrentlySober 04-15-2011 09:50 AM

Not since I broke its fucking legs...

Incontinence issues?

alexchechs 04-15-2011 09:52 AM

I used to do this with my cat from time to time when I lived in the city. I would take him to the park on a leash and he was alot of fun to do that with.

Actually this province is old Catholic and superstitious when it comes to cats especially (they were thought to be sneaky, evil and of the devil and old folks here still feel that way about cats).

So one evening I'm leading the usual parade of flag-pole tails down to the corner store, and I come across this old lady who was usually friendly, but when she spotted my cats she jumped, brought her hands up close to her and with a really pale face asked: "Are they bad?"

I didn't laugh, I actually kinda felt sorry for her...

Actually the word she used was "malin", which is not as bad as "Evil" but much worse than "bad" so I had to be dismissive about my cat buddies following me and tell her not to worry...

We dont have cats because personally, I dont like it how they crap on anyones lawn & the owners never give a shit about it...

However, our hamster runs about the room & comes to you by name, maybe mad, but true.

Our lovely hamster enjoys our cuddles, respects its home & appreciates the fact that we care for it so much, it sits on the our bed with us when enjoying fast food, taking a chip and nibbling it by the side of the plate. Its really house trained & very friendly :winkwink:

Years ago I used to have a cat that would venture a little if we encouraged her, the only problem was that as soon as she walked over a driveway she would just suddenly stop and keel over, rolling all over it. I actually had to pick her up and move her off it in order to keep moving!!
