HostHead, MOJOHost, this that, wtf

Can I please get a link or contact or whatever to submit trouble tickets? Now that the company has been sold, ticket system apparently doesn't work, links aren't there anymore, control panel just hangs or timeouts, blah blah blah.

Yes, back in January.

Hi Matt. Please contact Scott, myself or just ring the number on the HH web site and we will happily assist you with your HostHead login. I am personally unaware of any issues with the ticketing system. http://www.HostHead.com is still the appropriate place to obtain support, the phone number on the web site is accurate to reach us 24-7. Eli hasn't worked for HH in some time. Instead of several part time efforts (Eli, Brad, Gerry) there are more than a dozen full time administrators who are happy to help you now.

Sincerely,

Brad

Brrrrrad lol

Great just got off the phone with Scoot scoot and he gave me all the info. Nothing critical but a few issues I need to address and all the support stuff I have is old.

He gave me all the new info I need and I'm back on track and we're workin it.

Thanks for being awesome as usual

I had one of my servers at HH down since saturday, I tried to contact via icq and skype at least three people from the mohojost contact page, including the only one who was supposed to be online at icq by the time. The only person from Mojohost crew who i could reach only at night, and was kind and tried to help me, but unfortunatelly couldnt fix it, is Rommel. He guessed it was a RAM problem, and told me he was going to send a remote crew to take a look at that (i still dont know if they already went there)

Only this morning, Gerry (Jerry) contacted me and told me was going to look it asap and now things are working, he was able to fix it remotelly.

Seems to me that full time mojohost support could learn a bit with the part time efforts from old HH crew, not just technically speaking, but in terms of giving us customers the support and attention we need when managing our servers. if Mojohost could add the ace support HH always gave us (im with them for about 4 years now i think) with MJs big and strong infrastructure, it will be hard to match Mojohost's services.

MonsterWeb,

We apologize for any problems you have had recently with HostHead. If you can please send your account details to [email protected], I can make sure that your account is reviewed for a service credit.

A few house-keeping issues;

1) Clients are always welcome to phone for support, especially with instances where ticketing and instant messengers aren't getting the job done. We employ 18 full time system administrators and have coverage of multiple personnel at every time and day of week. In Miami, we have the benefit of 2 full time employees staffed within the datacenter for hardware & shipping receiving and additional availability of the site's 24-7 remote hands capability. Unfortunately, the HH site in Wisonsin even before it was under our ownership never had an employee or owner that lived within an hour of it and that data center only has limited remote hands capability 9-5, Monday through Friday. We have contracted with a company headquartered across the street from that particular site so that we can be "hands on" faster.

2) The most recent updates of FireFox 4 and Internet Explorer 9 have a bug we are troubleshooting with some secure pages. This is why you can hit cs.hosthead.com in any previous version of FF or IE and with other browers like Chrome. Frustrating!

3) Ever since AOL's purchase of ICQ, functionality of the web based status indicator is not guaranteed. In fact, it's just plan wrong most of the time with various ICQ numbers and always shows them as on. We've written our own work-around but basically this manual query of everyone's ICQ number takes too long to complete at several minutes. Long term, the best solution is going to be an authenticated client support-chat window and doing away with ICQ altogether.

Please don't hesitate to also contact me directly to discuss further.

Sincerely,

Brad Mitchell

After updating to the new FireFox and IE I found that some secure links come up as 404 for no good reason (cs.hosthead.com included). Below is the fix for FF. When I find the fix for Internet Explorer, I'll post that- if someone else has it please share!

In your firefox location bar, type: about:config (say yes when it says you can break stuff)

Find this entry:

security.ssl.allow_unrestricted_renego_everywhere_ temporarily_available_pref

Change that to true. Open a new tab, close that one.

Hope this helps!

Brad
