davecummings 05-06-2011 08:29 AM

Absolutely not!

2intense 05-06-2011 08:44 AM

No, I do not see the value

seeandsee 05-06-2011 08:45 AM

Fuck xxx, no shop for them

alias 05-06-2011 08:51 AM

Numbers wise, only big brands make sense on xxx. Feeder or test sites, forget it.

You can have 1 main awesome hand registered .com plus 5 com/net feeders and hosting for the cost of one .xxx.

Chosen 05-06-2011 08:54 AM

As I've said before in one of a dosen such threads, I'm going to purchase only sex.xxx, porn.xxx, xxx.xxx, facebook.xxx & twitter.xxx :)

Brujah 05-06-2011 08:57 AM

What alias said, and then add the future disadvantages. These will be worthless for SEO, and wait for Google's take on it. It'll be worth less than a .info, and cost 600 times more.

LAJ 05-06-2011 10:45 AM

Interesting how well over 90% say "NO".

just a punk 05-06-2011 10:47 AM

Old question, old answer = NO, I feel fine with my com's.

MrCain 05-06-2011 03:18 PM

My answer is and has always been NO.

Jack Sparrow 05-09-2011 04:01 AM

Ordered mines months ago.

buildingfutures 05-09-2011 04:24 AM

And as soon as 10 people say they are making big bucks with .xxx domains everyone starts buying them.

I'm not sure if I'm buying or not, let's cross that bridge when the time's right :)

sojproductions 05-09-2011 04:57 AM

cherrylula 05-09-2011 06:17 AM

Don't forget the opinions of the actual money making webmasters that don't post here (anymore), or never did....lol

TheLegacy 05-09-2011 07:13 AM

Why buy anything that is going to be banned in most countries anyways?

C H R I S 05-09-2011 07:16 AM

NO I will not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I can't- but i sure as hell would if i could).

Everyone else will buy - mark my words.

No webmaster will be making any money of .xxx domains. Having a .xxx domain does not increase your traffic. It does not increase your earnings. It does not increase your ratios. If you want to build a new site, get a .com. For the price of 1 .xxx site you can build 9 .com sites.

CyberHustler 05-09-2011 07:48 AM

I see no value in purchasing a domain for more money than normal with a tld that will be instabanned in many countries and facitlities...

I have to ask the obvious question, why would they?
  1. To protect your brand? If you own your mark, then you're already protected.
  2. To protect the children? I've yet to see any compelling evidence that this will accomplish that claim, beyond offering a global extension that that is filterable. Either way you still need parental involvement regardless of the filtering method or software.
  3. For SEO Benefits? I've yet to see any compelling evidence that XXX will be given any favoritism over other TLD's.
  4. For domain real estate in general as an investment, i.e. for resale? I've yet to see compelling evidence that people will pay large amounts of money for a premium quality .xxx domain name with the tarnished image ICM and XXX has been accumulating, not to mention the real possibility that such a domain will be blocked on a large level.
I'm just not seeing any benefit or anything compelling enough to warrant the high cost of such a domain extension, not to mention the fact your sites/domains would be under the scrutiny of an overseeing committee that seems to be comprised of people who have no stake in the adult industry beyond harvesting money on the backs of those actually involved.

Frankly, I am seeing far more negatives having to do with XXX than positive.

Since you're supposed to be the sales man, go ahead... here's your opportunity to try and convince an otherwise hostile community just why you think everyone will buy. I'm certainly not convinced.

That's because registering requires documentation of in adult business and 90% ... is not in the business.

Herd 05-09-2011 10:42 AM

Every wonder how ICM can never actually say what the benefits are for webmasters?

Its always the same script for consumers, how theres no viruses, credit card safety, iffor to over see ethics of smut. Why would a surfer give a fuck about an awkward board of people that appointed themselves as the porno police.

Nobody's losing money if they don't join this domain.

And if the govt illegally mandates .XXX's use, then buy it then. Govt gives months, if not more when it bans something for people to make the transition. Just have your big money making sites trademarked, and your good to go.

robwod 05-09-2011 10:50 AM

I find it somewhat telling that Chris was extended an opportunity in this thread, and others, to explain the benefits and expand on his claim of "Everyone else will buy - mark my words", but has so far declined to comment.

Interestingly enough, he seems much more interested in boosting his post count and sig buying/whoring versus answering reasonable questions that anyone, including myself, has asked.
