LA Producers, if you're planning on shooting Tiffany Thompson, be sure to have yourself a backup model because most likely...she won't show up.

I've tried to shoot her twice, both times were failures. The last booking was cancelled the night before the shoot by her agent....who said that she was canceling the shoot because Tiffany had been a no-show for her recent shoots. That last minute cancellation cost me $600 in kill fees :Oh crap

Earlier I did a mail-out to some content producers that I have contact information on...in an effort to warn them about Tiffany. I got a few replies back from some people who've worked with her already....here's one of them:

"She showed up at my shoot with her clothes in a shambles, dresses with holes in them, etc. Luckily we had some back up wardrobe items which she could use. She does get good feedback from customers but I?m not likely to test my luck on her a second time. Thanks for the heads up. Oh, and she was 90 minutes late arriving on set!"

would be a good forum just to post no shows. pretty common in my experience. the only time I assume the model will show up is when she is referred by an agency because you do that enough to them then they stop sending you work.

i was looking forward to seeing some pics of your shoot of her. IMO, i think she is very difficult to shoot properly. in fact, of all the photo sets of her that i've seen, i've only seen a handful of well-done photos of her.

Other than the fact that Dean lost money on the deal TWICE when she flaked...

shot her 3x's, flaked 1x...25% shoot failure, not bad actually. pretty standard ratio is 40% of custom shoots fail for one reason or another... last year was about 15% for some reason and this years is 47% to date.

How much was her fee going to be for the shoot?

it's kind of a cruel rule when it comes to nude models - the better looking the girl the more of a headache she is. the average looking girls cause less aggravation and the ugly ones are the nicest and best behaved.

I've had other models flake and you just get to realize that it's part of doing the business. It sucks bigtime and kill fees are the worst.

I'm not so sure dogging on a model is effective, but it certainly keeps everyone aware of the possibility. Unfortunately, all she has to do is show up a few times in the future and your history with her becomes irrelevant. Reliability in models is not always necessary for photographers, just reliability on the day they are with you.

She's cute, I'm sure she won't have problems with bookings. Maybe she's winding down her career already and just doesn't give a shit anymore. She has shot a lot in the past 6 months. Could be a possibility.

Correct. If you have been in this business awhile, while it sucks, you learn to just accept it. There are ways to cut down on some of it, but there will always be the occasional skeezer that flakes out for whatever the reason.

* Didn't set alarm (boyfriend over)
* Stomach flu (was out drinking hard last night)
* Car broke down, didn't have gas, ride bailed, etc..
* Got lost (slept in)

Working with 'talent', you just learn to deal with it.

Shot her two days in a row, I shot her the first day, put her in a hotel to be sure she would be close by for her second day and this was before I heard of the flakiness. I got very lucky 100%.
