What's you and your lovers "song"

What's the song or songs that pluck at you and your lovers heart strings?

Eva and I have 2.

Both will bring tears to our eyes, tears of happiness. :thumbsup

MaDalton, a strange choice, but if it rattles your cage.

I really don't have a song for my hand. That would be weird.

The UB40 version of "Only Fools Rush In".

One time she took a business trip with her very gay lover and was gone for a few days. I drove out to the airport, found her car, and put a home made casette into the the radio - It was me talking, telling her how much I love her, blah blah blah, and the only song I put on it was that UB40 song.

"Your Song" by Elton John.

My husband and I met when I was 13 and we were very tight from then until we got separated and lost touch until I was 17 and we've been together since. I dedicated this song to him many many years ago, when I was just 13. I used to write him poems and paint him pictures and that song was the closest I could come to letting him know how I felt about him. Both of us being artists on some level or another, him with music and me with writing and painting, it just seemed to fit us like a glove:

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

Scott McD 05-31-2011 09:16 AM

Ok this is actually the original version :winkwink:

Paul, Great Question

We don't really have a "lover's song."
Our usual night out has to be dancing to The Blues. When we walk into a bar, I hear the band say "Wild Child (my GF) is here or "The Dancers are here."
We used to dance at least 2X per week, not so much now after 6 years.
Amazing her knowledge of bands & songs is. They way some guys rattle off sports stats.
But "Our Song" is Led Zepplin's "Rock & Roll." 1st time I ever remembered the 1st dance

Yeah, that's a great song, love it too.

Personally I have too many favorites and can't pick just a few.

One of ours is "Miss You", by the Rolling Stones. We had been a couple in Japan, and then I moved back to the States, right around the time the "Some Girls" album was released. It shipped with several different collectors covers.

We both bought a copy and sent it to each other as a present - both with the same cover:

The song I dedicated to my wife at our wedding:

The song she dedicated to me:

We're still crazy in love, and still together... :liebe028:
