Have you ever refused to do business with someone because of his political convictions...?

Curious given the fact that we've got democrats, republicans, conservatives, libertarian minarchists, anarcho-libertarians, socialists, social-democrats, communists, mutualists, neocons, classical-liberals, progressives,... on this board.

Brujah 06-01-2011 03:28 AM

No, I have never refused to do business with anyone over their politics.

JFK 06-01-2011 03:31 AM

No, nor did I ever refuse to do business with someone, because of their religious beliefs:2 cents:

theking 06-01-2011 03:46 AM

Yes.....

ottopottomouse 06-01-2011 04:09 AM

I don't care what anybody believes in until they try and force it onto me.

MaDalton 06-01-2011 04:21 AM

if i knew someone is a hardcore Nazi I would have a hard time dealing with him. besides that i don't care much.

suesheboy 06-01-2011 04:22 AM

If they were in the KKK or Nazis etc...yes.

kane 06-01-2011 04:35 AM

Only once.

I went to buy a used washing machine from a guy and he turned out to be a nut case. He ran a side business out of his garage where he rebuilt washing machines and then sold them. He was giving me a great deal and even offered a free 1 year warranty on it. I get to this shop and he has a bumper sticker on his truck that says: Marriage = 1 man + 1 woman. This was close to an election where a gay marriage ballot was up for vote so I ignored it. When I get inside we are making small talk and he asks me if I will take one of those bumper stickers for my car. I just say no thanks. He asks why and I tell him that I will be voting in favor of legalizing gay marriage. He starts to preach to me about it an finally I just say, "Are you going to sell me the washer and if so can I just pay for it and go?" He tells me he really felt I could benefit from hearing what he had to say. I just decided to leave.

As I got to my car he came out and apologized and told me he would deliver it for free if I lived near by and I decided to pass on the whole thing. The last thing I needed was this crazy guy knowing where I live.

Agreed, when they hate people for how they were born

AnimeFevers 06-01-2011 05:05 AM

I try not to ask or talk about "political or religious beliefs" when I do business.

L-Pink 06-01-2011 05:13 AM

I don't do business with Catholic's, Democrats or Muslims.

cherrylula 06-01-2011 05:24 AM

No, because money itself has no opinion.

Jey p 06-01-2011 06:29 AM

No, but I've refused to work with people because they are very very stupid. Does that count?

Babaganoosh 06-01-2011 07:01 AM

I won't do business with ultra right-wing christian types. It's not necessarily because I disagree with their beliefs (which I do). If they believe some of the garbage they spew how can I trust their judgement in business?

woj 06-01-2011 07:38 AM

no, their $$ is just as good as anyone else's...

reminds me of a break up with a sikh.. found some muslim girl who was married to a sikh as well

funny the conversations of a catholic and muslim, going 'what the fuck is wrong with these people'

AtlantisCash 06-01-2011 09:59 AM

Why commies are in the list, they wouldn't be commies if they were really successful business individuals...

grumpy 06-01-2011 12:01 PM

long time ago a guy didnt wanna sell me computer parts because they were used in computers hosting porn.

Paul Markham 06-01-2011 12:29 PM

I've refused to work with people because I knew they would rip me off, would lose me money, would waste my time and generally clueless.

Broke that rule recently to see what they could come up with. He ran away.

twistyneck 06-01-2011 12:35 PM

No I don't really give a fuck about that kind of stuff though if I had to choose between a muslim and a non-muslim I would pick the non-muslim. Why? Because I hate them, that's why.

hate is a pretty strong word. I would find it difficult to "hate" someone i had never met and knew nothing about other than the bible he reads..

Dave chappelle is a muslim . Do you hate him ?

I don't hate Dave Chappelle, I only despise him but no more that he despises himself for his ugly comedic ways. I would still do business with him.

Barefootsies 06-03-2011 07:01 PM

No. As long as he is not trying to throw them in my face like a Jehovah's witness.

If you are a hardcore political or religious nut that's fine. Just keep it to yourself.
:2 cents:

Yes I hate them all. Every single one of them.

Vendzilla 06-03-2011 08:39 PM

I love the freedom of my country too much to think that I'm better than anyone because of their beliefs.

tony286 06-03-2011 08:52 PM

Nope done business with people the polar opposite of me.Some of my closest friends are card carrying rnc members. I lost one close friend over politics, he was going so far off the deep end. He made Vend look like a liberal lol i said to him this fight is going no where and i value your friendship too much. Lets not talk about this anymore and he never spoke to me again. It still hurts me to this day.

Chosen 06-03-2011 10:59 PM

Not yet...

SleazyDream 06-04-2011 01:55 AM

I don't do business with anyone who converts oxygen into carbon dioxide.

Phoenix 06-04-2011 02:08 AM

i do business with anyone...i dont care what flavour they like their ice cream either

martinsc 06-04-2011 03:15 AM

Some people's politics are my and my family's life. There are a few people on my "black list" - I'll never do any business with...

Klen 06-04-2011 04:48 AM

I dont ask for political views when conducting business with someone, but if read on board how someone have retarded political views then i wont do business with that person. After all, they are probably not capable to do any business with anyone.

Minte 06-04-2011 05:00 AM

Only when they get mouthy and insulting about my political or any other beliefs. There are more than enough people to do business with that aren't assholes.
