I've got AIM, GTalk, ICQ, Yahoo, Facebook, and MSN up all day long with Adium controlling the flow. I wish adium had skype, only messenger not in adium that i use regularly.

1) Skype doesn't transmit offline messages.
2) Skype has non-open source encryption which can be (IS) provided to the law enforcement agencies.
3) Skype so fuckin' slow, unstable and it's a property of Microsoft.

This is why Jabber rules.

Another note: The rest of the world will eventually be using what ever we decide to use... Like usual. So we need to come up with a standard.

If you think ICQ was bad for spam and also not notifying people of being added wait until you get comfortable with YM. it's 100 times worse. Do yourselves a favor, ride out the storm and you'll be fine. if ICQ does inf act boot all adult users then just start using something more reliable and welcoming, MSN. Everyone has it and it works 100% of the time, flawlessly

MSN is not secure enough. It's also like Skype belongs to Microsoft, so I don't trust it.
