Software for tracking IPs of downloaders?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any software that I could setup on my server/members area that would help track IPs and what files theyre downloading, times of downloads, that type of information. Also be nice to be able to see downloads by time also, not just by IP.

Anyway if anybody knows anything relatively close to that, let me know.

You can run all your downloads through a script

Right, it would be awesome if someone could hook a brother up with that script.

I am actually looking for a script that adds ip and downloaders name to video.

not really possible without transcoding the video on the fly for each downloader.

And what script would that be? And also, would these scripts be able to work with content management systems such as ElevatedX

You'd probably have to get it custom made. I don't know of any ready made solutions, especially that will plug in to an existing CMS.

I wish anti-piracy efforts would concentrate on the uploaders/seeders. Those are the people who make the stealing possible for the site owners.

No uploading, piracy sites die.

Plus, if you knock out one upload, you can stop 1,000 downloads. It is much more effective to stop the problem at the content's source.

Just my opinion.

Share the same sentiments. Problem with that is that you have industry attorneys going to bat, for some of the hosts, and knocking down those sorts of tactics. :disgust (at least via tube uploader)

I tread an article recently in x mag and the attorney was obviously read-between-the-lines "salivating" that trolls would be around for awhile... filth in a suit.

why would you want that?

what are you investigating?

anyway, no need to buy or pay anything, any decent free counter does that.
