Announcement: NALEM now OFFERING discounted ad space for Newest Footage: HD VIDEO SHOW COVERGE!

Yes!

Some of you may have noticed us at shows with not just cameras but with VIDEO CAMERAS!! Yes! Full HD Video Cameras.
With the evolving times of our industry we here at NALEM have found it long overdue to move from the boring PICTURES at shows to HD Video.

With this it allows for endless and very creative ad presentation and marketing power.
We are doing pre-orders for ad space which should go very very fast.

Get your pre-orders in now.

spazlabz 07-02-2011 08:03 AM

serious question here: what happens if you put up a video and someone in the video wishes for them to be removed, will you take down the video, edit them out including when they are in the background and upload the video again? And repeat the process for each person that makes the request?

I am curious because that seems like it would be a huge inconvenience for your team

B.Barnato 07-02-2011 08:05 AM

This sounds interesting, I am a great fan of Nalem.

Please send ad rates

Vince Russo 07-02-2011 08:06 AM

People are aware and told before they enter the show that they may be video taped.
Havent you ever been to a show?

Vince Russo 07-02-2011 08:10 AM

I assume this was directed at me: no, I have not but plan on popping my cherry next year. I asked you because I believe you or the poster NALEM has stated that if an individual does not want their image to be on your site that it will be taken down and I was curious if the same courtesy was extended to video as well. That's all

Yes.. We can black out or blur an indvidual in a video clip. But becasue it is labor intensive this will be done for a "small fee". Another aspect of our biz model we feel is a win win for everyone.

So yes, if you happen to be in the video and dont want to be seen in it, it can be removed and we will have an easy login and pay method for this to happen.

On a side note.. Hey Jim, if you ever decide to pop that cherry, please be sure to let me know in advance.. I would have to say, your probably the person I have known the longest amount of time without ever meeting in person. Lets not mention how long that is, cause it will age both of us. Say hi to your lovely wife for me.. :)

Vince while I recognize that you have taken over has the head of the company, :warning please discuss the timeing of any future announcements with the strategist. The "opt out" feature with the new HD Video work we will be doing in Europe was supposed to be announced after the Dutch Webmaster Gathering.

No, that is a LOSE, for YOU. Here's why.

If someone shoots people who don't want to be on camera, they're a prick. If someone shoots someone "by accident" and doesn't remove them, they're a prick. Trying to demand fees to remove people who didn't give you permission to shoot them in the first place makes them an even bigger prick.

If you do this, here's what I think will happen. Any trust you have by anyone will disappear along with your sponsors. Someone will sue you and you'll have to pay just to defend yourself, and even more when you lose.

Here's a better idea. Go to the shows with your video cameras and pay attention to the people you shoot. If someone is asking you not to shoot them, don't shoot. RESPECT the people and RESPECT THE SHOW you are very lucky to attend. Shoot your content and don't forget to include the signs and banners too. If anyone asks to be removed, do it at your own expense. If it costs you alot of money to remove all those people, train your cameraman to do a better job for you and for the industry.

peace.

I think the blackout fee seems sensible actually. After all, this is a business, right? Everyone needs to make a buck. And I imagine getting the magic marker on EVERY FRAME of a video, ESPECIALLY if shot in HD would take fucking ages.

Even a outsourced monkey worker would charge quite a lot for that.

You guys complaining need to think out the box sometimes.

Are you stupid?

No one is MAKING you pay.

Jack Sparrow 07-05-2011 01:02 PM

Really.

You guys ever went fishing and the fishied jumped straight into your boat and you laughed your ass off while the little fishies where crying and bitching?

Now: replace fish with troll and you know you've been fished.

Lykos 07-05-2011 01:35 PM

So you video tape me,and then i need to pay you to remove me???WTFFFF!!!!!!

And then your boss comes here and penalize you:)

What a joke:)

candyflip 07-05-2011 01:46 PM

Good to see there are still a bunch of idiots on GFY. :1orglaugh

Vince Russo 07-05-2011 01:50 PM

FYI: Only a very small percent of people actually ask to be removed from photos or video.

Those who are really serious about it have no issue at all with paying. :2 cents:
In fact if money is an issue with some inviduals we can make it fair for both sides.. Payment plans, reduced rates, etc..

PR_Glen 07-05-2011 01:51 PM

hi, i just bought some magic beans to access this thread... what i miss?

Shows are not consider public domain. They are private events. Technically you are crossing a very thin legal line with what you are doing. Even with pictures.

I really can't wait for someone to take you to court over some issue. And charging a fee? That is going to be the quickest way to a lawsuit.
