I got to my office at 5:54am today, im bright and ready...and then....
 

i left my power cord at home . :(

lesson learned on many fronts

1...i need a docking station
2...i shouldn't be 100% reliant on just one computer, there are about 15 here in the office, yet non are setup for me..lol
3...don't forget important things you need

being unproductive is the worst feeling, ugh
time to go back home through traffic

been there done that / no fun especially dealing with the traffic

have done that - usually leave laptop in the bag and sit on the pcs all day

fucking cable world we live in, and nikola tesla wanted for all to have wireless energy supply but someone didt like that

Feel ya on that. Worst is leaving for a long trip and forgetting a power cord.

Yeah sucks ass when that sort of thing happens. makes you want to crawl back in bed.

What about to buy home closer to your office?

kinda like the same feeling when you are the checkout at the store and you notice you dont have your wallet

I've pretty much done something similar, travelled to work and left my glasses at home. Can't read without them.

Through out time I've lost so many computers.... That I've learned to be prepared. I have a second computer here on my desk, a touch screen, that is also fully set up for me. I usually have a lap top except that just died, so we are waiting for the new replacement to arrive, but usually I have a lap top all set up too.

I always get extra power cords, I leave one in my office full time and another plugged in by my bed (or wherever I work at home) a third is in the computer bag and never used unless I am at a third location and running low on battery power.

Docking stations are the way to go :) .... I learned that the hard way ////

I think you can put your entire OS on a USB key nowadays and then just use any PC as a dumb terminal.
