Not really when you get out of the country you realize how good they actually are. People opening doors, stealing looking down upon, cheating looking down upon, women not selling themselves, animals treated better.

We still have strong values and I think we always will.

I have lived here my whole life and it's nothing like a tropical island, pretty cold actually by the beaches and dirty by the cities.

Could be because it's not an island and also not tropical.

If you want to live in the US 48 it's the best state. I look out my backyard and see palm trees, a pool & spa, banana trees, more trees :upsidedow, a waterfall, the beach, and hills if your into mountain biking or hiking. I don't have to go anywhere it's all right here. It never snows, hardly rains, the weather is pretty much perfect.

So, does it always get so cold there? I wasn't complaining when it made it down to the fifties in the evenings... it was much much colder where I came in from.. but I never knew california was so cool in the evenings...... we were about a block from the beach and hit 52

I know that things are a lot more "civilized" and "sheltered" here.. But then again I also haven't seen the other side of that coin (been overseas to anywhere) so I am just aware of it and have no actual knowledge of how things are in other countries

I use to have banana trees even though I was in kansas.. I love them!!! I got one to grow on my enclosed patio.... no one thought I could.. after a few years it was tall as the ceiling, close to 9'!!!

- Guam
- US Virgin Islands
- Northern Mariana Islands

and a few others as well.

Don't we also own quite a few island territories? Maybe somewhere in the middle tens in number?
