At least 87 dead in mass shooting, bombing in Norway

Police say 80 people killed on the island with the youth camp many of them in their teens and expects the number to rise.

So so sad that one lunatic can cause this and destroy the lives of so many people.

one right wing loony who will be found to be part of a far-right network of anti-immigrant/muslim extremists and political groups.

Quite likely, the anti muslim, anti-immigration sentiment is quite strong in some parts of Europe.

Barry-xlovecam 07-22-2011 09:23 PM

Better if it is some local right wingnut as opposed to some al-Qaida operatives.

Doesn't diminish the tragedy in the deaths but eliminates the possibility of some Jihadist based event with world wide aspects ...

considering waco was a motivating event for timothy mcveigh events like these may have many and unforseen future consequences.

also never underestimate these people may be part of an underground movement as well. this could be just a first strike.

Rochard 07-22-2011 09:36 PM

Who can blame us??

Grapesoda 07-23-2011 07:13 AM

it's odd that a guy can stand there with a gun and shoot almost 90 people... don't think that would happen in the USA. by that I mean I think he would have killed far less before being killed/stopped.

bloggerz 07-23-2011 07:26 AM

Thats a lot of people for one man to kill at one time with a gun

So fucking sad :(

moeloubani 07-23-2011 07:29 AM

love how some of you idiots still think it is the muslims worldwide that are carrying out the majority of terror attacks

look at libya, yemen, pakistan, afghanistan and iraq civilians die all the time from bombs that the US drops on them...innocent civilians.

id say for every 1 innocent person a muslim has killed 100 innocent people have been killed by the US and its allies.

i don't think now is the time to attack and advance your agenda eh. fact is, people need to cope/vent with events like this, it's certainly not out of line. people deal with things in their own way.

thanks bro for your input

now back to what i was saying

it is more likely when someone is murdered on earth that it is an American or someone allied with America than it is any other group of people

get over yourselves

At least one machine gun, probably more weapons. He was dressed as a police man, took a small ferry to the island where around 700 teenagers and people in their early 20s were on a political summercamp. He said he was there to talk to them about the bombing in Oslo, and when the teenagers started to gather around him, he started shooting..

When a guy starts shooting at hundreds of teenagers with a machine gun, they flee, they do not try to stop him..
With most of the nearby policeforce in Oslo because of the bombing, on a small island filled with teenagers you can do a lot of damage. Add to the whole that this is in a country where not even the police got weapons unless there's something special, and you have the recepie for disaster..

thanks bro for letting it be my call i was going to wait until you gave me permission and then do what i was thinking but now that you said its my call i can breathe easy

any time i see something like 'oh its probably just muslims' i feel the need to remind people of the truth, that muslims is not what they should be worried about but rather their own government and its allies which are responsible for the vast majority of murders and terrorism around the world

again, try and relax, i wasn't giving you permission, i was acknowledging that you write what you want, it was the conclusion to the friendly suggestion i was providing.

i doubt your message is getting through any better today than it was when you started your vitriol way back when. you'll get more bees with honey than vinegar.

I didn't know beautiful people did such things...

Oddly enough... He might have been inspired by this song:

The Oklahoma City bombing was done by a few nutjobs and a similar event could occur in the future. So far, it has not.

This is the difference; between a well organized act orchestrated by a terrorist organization that has a foreign based command and a terrorist act of local extremist.

The terrorist act of local extremist can be easier to defend against (sometimes).

So incredibly sad that there are people out there that have that little respect for other human life, regardless of beliefs, race, sex, or lifestyle. :(
