Travelling to third world countries with paxum and payoneer

be sure to take some additional cash as there are a lot of ATMs not allowing to withdraw money from my paxum or payoneer card, probably because its MasterCard. I had this experience in Vietnam and right now in Peru. I have never had such problem anywhere else in third world countries (well i had always epassporte before) once in time you can get in real countryside, where you have to travel to nearest ATM accepting Visa more then 10 hours. just find that out in hard way, fortunatly i have always some friends with cash around me :)
Fifteen years ago I was laughing to stupid foreginers asking for ATM in countryside of our country (czech), now I act the same :1orglaugh

Here are the countries you will have an issue using your paxum card in

1.. Cuba

2.. Iran

3.. Iraq

4.. Libya

5.. N. Korea

6.. Burma (Myanmar)

7.. Liberia

8.. Sudan

9.. Syria

10.. Zimbabwe

11.. Rwanda

12.. Vietnam

This is the first time i've heard of peru being an issue. Was it isolated at one machine or did you try it a few different times?

Regards
Chris

several times (mostly in isolated areas) and yes, they were not only Visa ATMs.
however my GF withdrew the money without any problem.

Payoneer and Paxum cards blocked in India, don't forget about that...
I guess enormous amount of Indian freelancers pissed off the Indian government, and the cards issued by Choice bank have been blocked throughout entire country...

Actually, just a correction, Payoneer DOES work in India, they just can't be issued their own cards. If you do not live in India and are traveling there, you can use your card there without a problem. We have already checked and verified that it works.

About the card not working, it can only work wherever a MasterCard is accepted. You can see a list of international ATMs here: http://www.mastercard.com/ca/persona...ons/index.html

Payoneer indeed works in India, but i would say, it works in around 80 percent of ATM machines overthere.
But Paxum didnt work there, we tried 2 cards in several different ATMs
