Nifty Stats no longer Free?

So today when checking stats I get a message saying Nifty Stats no longer supports a free version. Is this correct? Ok I get the fact nobody bought your advertisements......fine....whatever. But for nearly the same price per month anyone else thinks Stats Remote is a better option?

woj 08-11-2011 07:38 AM

lame, they should at least let it run in read-only mode or something so I can grab all my account numbers passwords, etc

beks001 08-11-2011 07:40 AM

I agree.....

AdultKing 08-11-2011 07:41 AM

Got this in email.

Dear users,

We have offered you the free version of Nifty Stats for 4 years. The idea behind the whole project was to provide a free tool with rotating advertisement for our users. The sold advertising spaces were funding the free version, so you the user could have the software for free. Unfortunately the users interest about the ads in the free version of Nifty Stats has rapidly declined over the years, which has negatively applied to the amount of sold advertisement. Therefore we have decided to stop supporting the free version of Nifty Stats.

The free version of Nifty Stats isn't available and won't be supported anymore. For every user of the free version we offer a 30 day free trial of the professional version of Nifty Stats PRO as a bonus.
There is always Stats Remote or you can pay for Nifty Stats Pro

isn't another software ( new, free, russian ) launched recently ?
Looks like a great opportunity for them...
.

beks001 08-11-2011 07:45 AM

If anyone comes across a free one please do share. :)

yes but if they also won't be able to sell ads then guess what :2 cents:

PS i'm buying NS for long time and it is worth it, if you are professional affiliate then it's still cheap and if you promote 2 sponsors and earn $50 monthly then you don't really need anything to track stats.

femdomdestiny 08-11-2011 07:58 AM

From their behaviour ,it was obvious that is coming. They tried everything, but never got idea to make product more affordable for hundreds small webmasters, and they would have solution. 5 or 10 bucks monthly or something like that, end everyone would pay. Now, they will just irritate people and . From what I know, stats remote is also not free.

Yes, 100% yes.

Sly 08-11-2011 08:05 AM

Probably a pretty tough business to offer software like that and update constantly while depending on advertiser support. Advertising is usually one of the first things that gets cut in someone's budget.

I've used it, it's a pretty good product. At the end of the day, it saves a ton of time and if you are an affiliate that does any sort of stats analysis (which you should), software like this is essential. Consider it part of running a business and help pitch in to keep the software running, if possible. Without paying subscribers, they will no doubt have to close shop soon enough.

I get what your saying about it making life easier but the upkeep on these types of programs can't be that time consuming once they're built. I can see pricing it the anti-virus route of $40-$50 a year but $20 a month (or $30 in the case of Stats Remote) over and over is too much in this climate. Heck, if they did $9.95 a month, they'd probably retain/gain many more customers.

femdomdestiny 08-11-2011 08:22 AM

exactly

Yes, exactly, but let hem learn by themselves, next move is exactly that, price lowering, and they will finally find their profit after long time of experimentation and kill competition.

I'm happy to pay for Stats Remote, it costs much less than 1% of my earnings and provides invaluable information and saves lots of time. The subscription model works because it's constantly updated.

glad to hear that, the same in NS

Babaganoosh 08-11-2011 09:35 AM

I never liked how nifty displayed stats. Some programs were inaccurate, rarely worked or weren't supported at all. Stats Remote is more expensive but there's a reason for that I guess.

Nifty Stats is only 20 .... SR for 30 per month maybe SR has more programs but Nifty Stats is more comfortable and has much more functions and it's a cheaper solution.
