yes, myself and my crew are a bunch of turds who don't use ICQ and lack social skills. We're also pretty busy to play the PR game, so we're on a lose-lose situation to that respect. :Oh crap

THUS....

1 - Not even our own clients who use us every day are voting us :1orglaugh
2 - Not even the people we have helped for free voted for us
3 - People for which we had made millions of dollars admitted they voted someone else that didn't made them a cent because... they were asked to (damn social skills :Oh crap)

THEREFORE....

Although we're in pretty good company with the best design companies in the industry (I almost feel embarrassed to get my votes than Dickmans or Adult Design), we could really use some votes. Not only because we would obviously like to be recognized by the community to which we gave so much (and we got a lot in return as well :thumbsup) but also because, like many people know, I'm a fan of design. I might not be the best, but I love it. I breathe it. It's what I chose to do despite what I studied, it's in my mind every single minute of the day. Many people knows how I always stood for designers, explained them how to improve, how to defend themselves, how to get respect. It's my passion.

With all my limitations, and those of my team, we always strive to get better and better, and when we could, we were among the first to innovate in adult (CSS only, AJAX, WP CMS, adaptive design, HTML5, JQuery tools, etc). It takes a lot of time=money to do so, but like I said, it's my passion, a passion that I'm happy to say it's contagious to my team. Many people knows that we even worked way above what we were asked for just because of our pride and passion, just because we felt it could be done better.

And like most of you know, I'm a very honest person, which is more a problem than a quality, but I can't and won't change at this point of my life. And in all honesty, it really hurts that this community and this industry is choosing outsourcing companies over the design companies that molded this industry, for bad or for good, what it takes

I know that the "troll herds" like to have fun and this post may hurt us more than what it will help. So be it. I see people voting for Fatfoo or ban Eric or Theo, so it's not that I don't know how things work.

But I never asked for anything here, so this time I'd like to invite you to vote for us . We are passionate about what we do and would like you to share that passion with us

We lack social skills. My ICQ works from time to time. But I honestly think we deserve your vote for DESIGN company :)

Well I think I voted once already and apparently GFY won't let me vote AGAIN otherwise I would vote for Thee, Sir Harvey. I voted for Zuzana only because she was the only one in the list I actually employed once, for a gallery design. :)

But hey, it's hard for us cartoon characters to get respect. LOL
I would say: use this 1st Annual GFY Awards as a Lesson Learned. NEXT year begin your PR campaign a month or so before the voting opens.....

But honestly, you've been here 10+ years, still posting (and still making sense) so that should be reward enough. LOL I'm sure you got a T-Shirt at some point, too....(I never did!)

Lastly, boycotting said GFY AWards, in protest, by staying in, curling up on the couch with the comfort food of your choice and watching a Beatles marathon is a good way to say GFY to GFY AWards! Kinda like I do every year during the Oscars since I'm mysteriously never nominated....

we'll make an "official" launch next week or so, since we're getting many requests for it. Since it's the most customizable CMS in the market we're working right now on regular versions, network versions, adaptive versions, waiting on confirmation of mobile network and so on, so we don't have a real hurry to launch, people is already buying it.

The thing is that this won't be a theme, we call it an Inner Collaborative Environment since it works sort of an "inner cloud". To better illustrate it, let's say you like to cook, and you have all kind of ingredients. To make a cake, you'll use only flour, sugar, milk but to make a BBQ you'll use meat and for a hotdog you'll use a bun and a sausage. Our system works the same way: it delivers only what's needed, but the beauty of it is it have 10 or 20x times more features than the most modern CMS built to date, so you can cherry pick how to build your site, which features to use and deliver them automatically based on many factors: markup, browser, device, visitor status, etc. hell, if we want we could even deliver content by time of the day (can't figure why would we do that, but we can do it)

Also, the newer versions are 100% modular. This means that you can take blocks and mix and match to build your own themes. Thus, the latest index page we built has, LITERALLY, 52 lines of FULLY COMMENTED code

But the beauty of this is SPEED. I mean, like in UP TO 100x FASTER encoding. You can build an entire site with 100 scenes and many different video versions (more than any other existing CMS) in 10-12 hours. Not exaggerating, it's as fast as that. Of course, it depends on teh video length and your server specs, but to give you an example, a 760px DivX 380Mb video in 5 different formats (mp4, wmv, flv, qt, mp4 smaller size + all thumbnails) takes us 3-4 minutes to build in the cheapest Amerinoc VPS

The thing about price is that we won't probably launch it as a package, but an adaptive environment consisting of the features you need, some free themes and the choice of having us customizing your site/network, so if you need more, you'll pay more, but if you need a few features, you'll pay less, so all price structures will be dynamic as well, but full network versions will be more affordable than any other script with network capabilities, so if you know about prices of other scripts you'll more or less find out what it will cost

I won't post samples in public until it's launched, but feel free to contact me if you want to see it working :)

Perhaps you should take a moment on give some thought to the fact you have to publicly beg and argue and sell people to get them to acknowledge you and your services. Then get to work on trying to fix it.

I am not trying to hurt your feelings. It was just an interesting observation and seeming contradiction to me. Either you are really great and the industry in general recognizes that or not. Rather than doing things to position yourself as the best and as the expert (posting incredible and technically challenging designs, tutorials on page layout, headlines, conversions, effective copy, graphics vs text in design, controlled studies and so on) you are begging for approval.

Just struck me as being a bit odd in the broader sense. Not anything about you in particular although you often come off as being quite cocky and seem to offer little to justify it.

My point i guess was that you had to post a combination of a "plea" as you put it, followed up by an oversized sales pitch to try to close people in the idea that you are the best.

"The Best" is something that is often self evident or else the perception created in the minds of potential customers as the result of careful positioning and consistent branding/marketing. It's a perception of quality. That is not something that can be created with cheap sales copy, particularly when you have unmotivated and apathetic buyers. All you've done is made an argument and made one with no real relevant context. No design samples. No testimonials. No improved conversions etc.

Its just a random claim that has no real instant credibility in the mind of the reader. Furthermore, its a claim that others are making as well which again takes away from the credibility of any one particular claim of being "the best".

well, in your tiny world I assume Dickmans, Blue Design, Wyldesites and Adult Design also suck. Wow. The fact that those companies (and mine, and Wolume and a few more) built the visual and tech part of this business and we worked for most (if not all) the medium to big companies in adult since 98 to date really eludes you. Personally, I can't remember a single company I didn't work for exception made of Private.

So according to you, helping other people out is wrong (yes I know you think so, you already admitted and defended it) and in order to qualify DESIGN me, Bruno, $tandaman, Mark and the real design studios should develop "ICQ messaging skills" since design isn't even a consideration?

And ACCORDING TO YOU a designer is someone that doesn't need to necessarily know anything about design, just being a middle person.

But... wait: if those designers are so good... why can't they work by their own and need a middle person in order to work? Guess that didn't even occur to you :1orglaugh

And finally, this is not again those outsourcing companies. I'd have vote for one of them if there was an outsourcing category, they're good outsourcing companies. The fact that you can't even understand the difference between design and outsourcing speaks a lot

Not sure how you managed to take it to so many bizarre places. No one mentioned outsourcing or anything else you babbled about in what is clearly a frustrated and desperate reply.

BTW.. case in point. Mike Wylde was the best. Not because he asked people to agree that he was the best, but because everyone recognized his work for being the best. That's why he was charging 5k for a 4 page design. He never had to say "look at me" ... everyone else was saying "look at him". Thats the difference between trying to convince people you are the best and actually being the best.

He didn't have to write a convoluted sales pitch on a forum to convince people he was the best. He didn't have to run around saying "hey guys, here is a 3 page, 59 point argument as to why you should agree i'm the best".
