Web Air Problem Due To Sorbs

I cant email a few girls we do work with or photographers due to Web Air using Sorbs and we are registered there as spammers!

I was able to talk to them up untill a few days ago.

We dont even send out spam email!

What do you need though? This is a bash thread or do you want another host? Are you with mojo or webair? I'm confused...

seeandsee 09-07-2011 10:47 AM

Not bashing Web Air. I just dont see why they are using Sorbs when they arent exactly well respected:

I've had problems with almost every host at first with emails being blacklisted.

Do an IP blacklist check? If blacklisted, request new IP's. AOL addresses are commonly one of the first to blacklist so make support test to an aol address.

Ask them to verify DNS is setup properly. Find returned to sender emails on mail server and forward to support.

Hosts which are actively in adult commonly have mad email problems from my experience.

If after all this they say all is fine then it is time to move on :2 cents:

Hi Lucy, Webair filters spam on behalf of it's clients. That said our clients do have the options of disabling spam filtering or modifying it as needed. I would suggest having the Webair client to contact us via a support ticket to modify it accordingly. You can also hit me up on the side and I will look into getting you white listed.

Emailed you from a Gmail account. Seriously SORBS seems to suck hard. They are now telling us they will remove us from the database if we pay them cash. We are not on SpamCop or any of the other usual places.

MediaGuy 09-07-2011 01:33 PM

Is it a smart relay/SMTP authentication issue maybe?

:D

BSleazy 09-07-2011 01:53 PM

I have a similar problem at amerinoc. All my emails to gmail and yahoo get returned for spam. Not sure why though.

The server and IP are with Mojo. The domain is with Directnic with Mojo listed as the nameservers.

Anyway we reckon SORBS is a fraud as they are now saying if we pay them x amount of money they will remove us instantly from the database.

HomerSimpson 09-07-2011 03:15 PM

another webair happy customer :Oh crap

Who cares, Webair is still the subject of the thread. And it seems Webair has told the OP is not their fault.

Well.. it's your IP that gets registered with SORBS if I remember correctly, so you can either fix it by paying SORBS or getting a new IP (or a new host).

And yea, webair sucks big time.
