Best Places to Eat in Ams and Prague
I like to eat my way through a city when visiting abroad:xomunch I know it's really hard to go wrong in Amsterdam, the Tibetan place in the RLD is a must, and I have a few other favorite spots, but I still want to find a good Dutch pancake place, since I always go to the one by the Heineken Brewery.
Also, I've never been to Prague so what is the fare like there? Meats? Seafood? And any suggestions for places to go to for really yummy grub? |
Bring me something..hehe..

if you get bored of traditional Cezh meals, pop by to a nice Italian restaurant at Vrsovicka and Amurska corner. Really great cusine (risotos) and great atmosphere in evening...
Google Maps Street View I could also recommend some good places in downtown... also if you go to Melantrichova street right across the Astronomical Clock and pass the "Sex Macine Museum" you have some nice local pubs with cheap beer and good food.. |
indeed, goulash is great i thought it was hungarian food.
You should try mamaliga too :winkwink: http://www.myczechrepublic.com/czech...h_cuisine.html http://www.czech-travel-guide.com/food.htm http://www.pragueczechtravel.com/inf...ional-food.php http://www.prague.net/traditional-czech-food |

You may want to check the Ambiente restaurants:
http://www.ambi.cz/index_eng.php Here's a related article: http://www.praguepost.com/best-of-pr...ague-2010.html And Czech cuisine is extremely heavy indeed, usually trying to avoid it, not blaming anyone willing to try it out though. |
When I first read this title I thought it said, "Best Place to Eat Arms in Prague."

Amsterdam, I could recommend Suriname restaurants also named Tokos, if you like spicy and delicious food. Near ASD Central Station (Zeedijk) there are a few who serves the best.
Best dishes, Tjiauw min (Noodles with roosted chicken/pork meat), Roti Lams / Roti Chicken. It's cheap and really delicious. I wish I could enjoy some, has been already 6 months and here in Czech this type of soulfood is not available. |

It's a bit of a cab ride - but there is this fantastic middle eastern spot about 20 mins from the hotel in Ams - The Sultan's Palace - Highly recommend it!

Keep the suggestions coming! I have been to both places...but it was 2005 and it seemed like very one was focusing on the local romance and not the local food.

Try Prague's Hooters at least once. It may not be typical food, but chances are you won't regret it. :pimp

Some of these are good. Hergetova Cihelna and Amici Miei There's also a very nice restaurant with a roof garden just down from the palace. Cowboys Steak & Cocktails Restaurant Try the roof top part, unless the weather is bad, Then it's the cellar. |

Seriously, i guess you are right, it's cheesy and overpriced etc - I just have a teenager-sort-of-weakness for burgers served by czech girls in that outfit (don't ask me why, it's beyond me, but i just like it better than strip clubs etc). :helpme Oh well, a shrink might investigate, but it's more expensive than just keep getting those overpriced burgers :pimp |

Ohh man, I'm missing this stuff so badly :( |
Prague:
Lokal (Dlouha street or the other, newer location, Google it) for Czech fare, Aromi (Manesova street) or Osteria da Clara (Mexicka street) for Mediterranean, Noi (Ujezd street) for Thai, Cukr-Kava-Limonada (Lazenska street) for coffee/snacks |
