Some of the biggest registrars in the world are already taking pre-orders and creating some major buzz around the .XXX sponsored top level domain. GoDaddy.com, eNom.com, Register.com and NetworkSolutions.com are in on the action just to name a few.

The .XXX (dot triple X) page over at Wikipedia is one of the most popular informational resources when it comes to this new extension. It has been around for a couple of years now with breaking news and in-depth coverage of the whole approval and setup process of this new extension, and the stats of this page are pretty interesting and provide a lot of insights.

2008: .xxx page has been viewed 572,469 times over at Wikipedia
2009: .xxx page has been viewed 465,740 times over at Wikipedia
2010: .xxx page has been viewed 1,511,857 times over at Wikipedia

So far this year the page has been viewed 2,880,195 times (as of Sep. 9, 2011) and we still got almost 4 month?s to go before it?s over. It?s currently one of the top 1000 most viewed article pages on the English version of Wikipedia. Not bad I say :)
