Where to do business and trade ideas with adult webmasters?
 

Does anyone have suggestions on where real adult webmasters trade ideas? What forums and/or sites do real adult webmasters do business?

GFY is not it anymore. Not like before.

I admit I don't have a lot of traffic, I'm not a big player, but still want to focus on sales.

Here, but wade through the crap. What are you looking for, maybe we can do some biz.

I'm out of ideas. My last great success, rentyourdot.com is pretty much dead now.

Hmmm, maybe I could turn it into an adult parking service and leave the mainstream behind...

At a show? I traded lots of serious tips and biz ideas at xbiz in London... After all, everyone is SOOO DIFFERENT off the boards... (Me included)

I mean, people are not going to share their secrets on here - Not cause of competition, but because you know a 'no-one' is gonna pop up and say that you dont know what you are talking about... So, most people dont bother.

But face to face, at a proper show? Totally different situation - Totally different results :)

There use to be a board that trumped them all :(

I had thought about making a real effort to part more useful business stuff here. It's kind of disheartening when even a simples business related question gets mainly stack responses, though, mainly from one or two newbies who don't like that I reply to their political threads by posting facts. I'm going to yet to stay away from politics and make GFY more about business for me.

As I recall it's against the rules to post URLs of other forums. There are some with far less traffic but a higher signal to noise ratio. Since I happen to live within a few hours of three of the largest cities in the US, I thought about hosting a webmaster lunch maybe two to four times per year. Not a big show, but just a little one day get together to talk business. If anyone reading this would be interested in a little get together within the Houston / Austin / Dallas triangle let me know.

That would be totally cool. I live in San Diego, even a San Diego "webmaster lunch" would be awesome.

I was in El Cajon for a few years... There are a good few peeps based in SD that I kinda remember, but dont be too hung up, on having a meet on your own doorstep...

Yeah, I know its convient, but if the meet is 'less convient' for all concerned, and costs people travel to get too etc...

Then you are going to end up with a lot more serious people being there, for you to speak with...

You completely baffle me.

Day in and day out, you complain how this industry cannot make you money. Yet day in and day out, here you are still complaining about it. I have dabbled in areas where I made little money... I left quickly and went on to the next.

I agree with MaDalton. I still do plenty here on good ol' GFY. If you are looking to do business and can't quite figure out how to use GFY, I suggest looking inwards instead of outwards.

Have you simply tried asking questions or actually tried to get business through contacting others?

I hope you don't think some forum or something is simply going to tell you all the answers without you asking any questions or walk up and hand you business without you trying first.

GFY still has millions of dollars worth of fresh business on it... but only for those that go get it, which is how it's always been.
