pay site

Hello
I'm new, not just to here, but to all things net...
I'd like some feedback on the merits (or not) of paysites...
first...some background...
I have a site that features videos...I have about 30,000+ unique visitors per month...and I make no money, except about $100 every three month period from affiliate sources, and that doesn't pay my bills.
I am considering turning my site into a pay only site...
I wonder if I could get some feedback on the merits or otherwise of pay only sites...
thanks

Your visitor quality seems to be poor if you are making so little, do you know what your visitors are looking for ?

Welcome to GFY :thefinger

What do you mean by "site that features videos"?

thanks...
AdultKing, I know what my visitors are looking for...free videos of the kind I am featuring...
Chosen, the site features exhibitionist videos taken in real life, rather than in a studio...
Because there is so much free stuff on the net, I'm not sure that my move to a pay site will work...
Obviously a pay site works for some...but I think they are the big names only...would appreciate feedback on this...

Where are your visitors coming from? Blind clicks from trades, search engines, bookmarkers, etc.

Are you showing full-length videos that you own or clips from a sponsor?

Hi Baryl
I don't know where my visitors are coming from...I know that many come from a forum that I used to use, but I think many come simply from the search engines and others from word of mouth...I mean, the numbers are increasing every month without any promotion on my part, so I assume it is the search engines and word of mouth...
The clips are short clips that I produce...they are anywhere from about 1 minute long to about 5 minutes long...

If you need some specific pointers why you are not making money, shoot me the url and Ill take a look.

Hi Simeon
the site is haveUbeenflashed.com (they won't let me post any URLs until I have made 30 posts)
however I've taken nearly all videos off because I am now selling some videos on clips4sale.com and they would be pissed off (and rightly so) if they paid good money for clips only to find that they are free on my site...so I've taken nearly all videos off, apart from some videos from affiliate programs that I am promoting.
However I have left two of my own videos intact and still available for free, so if you can imagine a site with bunches of similar videos, that will give you some idea of what my site looked like prior to the removal of most videos.
Hope I'm making sense...
I cannot post the URLs but my two videos that are still up are..."laughter is the best medicine" and "unusual reactions"...you will find these videos in the top index bar. As I say, just imagine a site with lots of such videos and that will give you a good idea of what the site was like.

Basically, as the site stood before the removal of the videos, it ranked very high, with 30,000 plus unique visitors per month, and rising, and I was promoting a few affiliate programs, but I was hardly making any money at all.
That is why I decided to sell the clips on clips4sale.com and that is why I'm contemplating turning this site into a pay site.
Any advice appreciated (I'm broker than all hell!)

I visited your site an had no clue what it was about (until I watched the videos).
The problem you are facing is down to the presentation of your website (it looks messy atm) try reducing the font size, font colour and using the same font. Also the sponsors you are promoting may not be best suited to your niche.

i think targeted niche specific sponsors is the way to go, if the traffic is to generic, and not targeted enough then its just not going to convert, people are very fickle
