Costa Rica vs Panama vs Columbia
 

Hey guys~
My partner and I plan to open a webcam studio in Jan 2012. We plan to start out really small with 4-6 elite models. We really want to focus on quality vs quantity.

We are having some difficulties deciding where the best location for such a venture would be-
any input would be appreciated.

Most of the biggest card bangers live in Costa Rica, they bank in Panama and import their hookers from Columbia.

stay away from panama... labor laws will make your life miserable and almost impossible to operate low key which is how you should here.

if a model gets pissed off you will get fucked.

Open a studio in all 3 to cover all the niches

Colombia is the best from the three but you better know people and have a nice bankroll. You don't want to depend on a Tica for anything so forget Costa Rica. Panama is out of the picture for sure as well like the above poster noted.

the hatians would go for it but the dominicans wouldn't do any live camshows theyre too paranoid about teh internetz as many have western union boyfriends abroad.

SO FUCKING TRUE!! The labor laws there were fucked, was fun place to live but happy I don't have to deal with the staff issues any more.
On top of labor laws you also will have a $10k-20k fee for setting up...
You will not get local girls to cam *for the most part* you will need to ship them in just like the strip clubs etc do.


It is also my understanding that CR does not like cam companies setting up shop there. So expect to have to pay off a few people... Also you may run into the issue of needing to ship none local girls in.

Your 3rd and last choice maybe your best one..

I've spoken with a several prostis at Del Rey and several had never even heard of camming. I'm not sure that would be the case in Columbia with the proliferation of studios down there...

There are already tons of Columbian hookers in CR. Why import them?

I really appreciate all of your feedback. The prevailing opinion seems to be "none of the above" and that concerns me.

With minimal effort, I have already referred two models (1 Dominican, 1 Costa Rican-both living in CR) using my AWEmpire affiliate link. So far the girls have been consistent. I assumed that with significant effort I would be able to recruit a few superstars-train them, set them up with top of the line equipment, the fastest broadband in the country and see some nice profit.

cr is awesome, but the girls are difficult to work with..panama is difficult for biz reasons..getting something going, etc..solution is you need money either way, so then go to columbia where you'll get the best of the best meaning girls and well, everything else

It was a problem in the past but rates have significantly decreased. Im pretty sure Mexico is the new world leader in kidnappings. Kidnapping is the least of my worries in Colombia. Im kind of paranoid about upsetting the other webcam studios-Im not sure if they are controlled by the mafia like much of the Eastern European studios are (used to be?)

I know that shooting porn is legal and protected by the constitution. I'm sure that the content girls work arent paid a salary. I dont see why I cant hire the girls as Indy contractors. Ive tried to look into the matter but cant seem to find a Costa Rican lawyer that is well versed in webcam specific law. ::::sigh::::

Another thing that bothers me about Colombia is this:
On streamate there are SOOOOOO many bored looking Colombian studio girls that are really sub par IMO. Im worried that clients may see the CO tag, assume shes a studio girl and move on. I could be wrong but I feel that the CO tag next to my models could adversely effect sales.

That is not the real problem:

The good news is you can get Dominican girls to do cam shows if you offer the following:

1) guaranteed salary in the $500-$1000 range

2) discreet location to work in

3) shows will not be available for viewing in the DR and preferably not in NY/Jersey either.

These will be college girls and will require training and orientation.

However the bad news is the amount of publicity you will have to generate in order to get a good number of girls together (more than 6 or 7) will pretty much guarantee a raid that will result in your arrest if you are onsite along with confiscation of all equipment and the shuttering of your locale.

It's not specifically illegal, but the local authorities don't distinguish between performing and prostitution (even if its solo) so you will be arrested as a pimp.
