Google: No more info about the referer keywords

Google is now going to make SSL default for signed in users so we wont be able to get the query-keyword out of the referer-string.

They are fighting facebook for control of the internet, not a surprise they'd do something like this. It's their business info to make private, but yeah it pretty much sucks ass.

True, true. I only registered one site with them. I'm not registering the rest. I guess we can just use a multiplier to try to guess what the real stats are per keyword based on the ones we can see? So if it shows 500 hits for a keyword and on average only a third is shown due to the change we can estimate we got around 1500 queries for that keyword. Stats software should do this automatically from here on out?

The SSL is for Wifi... so the connection is encrypted, so people can't drive around and lift your history basically.

I've use https WEB google for a long time, as long as a page passes the google query through, anything can capture the query in the url.

I can currently track every keyword in the Urchin Program I recommended that we buy from Google for $10,000 6 months ago -- now they make an important part of the program worthless. I will have to consider cutting my AdWords expenditures now that I don't get the tracking data to justify the AdWords buys.

This kind of asinine policy will just drive people to advertise and optimize for other search engines. Piss your customer off and drive them to the competition -- taking lessons from the Bank of America Google?

This is why oligopolies are evil.

Google sends no referrals with personally identifiable information. The Google idiots just dried up the source of keyword tracking that drives their AdWord purchases ... Congratulations arrogant idiots...
