Do you give your models pics?
 

Lately, we have been geeting alot of requests for pics from models after their shoots.

Does anyone else GIVE pics to models for their personal use only?Should we charge them? how much though? We are an original content site, so we are not familiar with what content providers charge.

As soon as we took care of our two main models, it now seems like they all want pics! Is anyone else running into this!

Ya, absolutely. It's in the agreement before we shoot, that we'll burn them a CD with their pics on it for their use only.

Give it to em but just write in the release that they cant turnaround and sell it and so on..

Fuck em. If they want pics then we can do TFP and I will not pay them....BUT... I know the specific girls you are talking about. Can you honestly say that they would never take those pics and attempt to republish them to make their own money?

"I hereby waive any right that I may have to inspect and/or approve the finished products....."

I do not even let most girls see their pics on the computer when I am done shooting them. Why?

1: Takes too much time. I have other things to do after the shoot...Like jerking off.

2: "I hate that pic...please delete it." What if I like it? Now if I tell her no then I am a prick.

I don't trust any of the models

I know I hate that, after the shoot they want to see themselves and it does take forever. Will you tell Jace not ask the girls if they want to see the site before the shoot! thats a killer too......

why not give them a few pics? You take care of them and you will get better refferals

Exactly my point. You and I shoot in the same city and in some cases we have worked with or had contact with the same girls. They tell you one thing, me another, and unseen hears different shit than either of us. These girls will tell us anything if they feel that it will be to their advantage.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER give ANYBODY a way to fuck you with your content. The best way to cover your ass is to keep your content.

I have one model who actually searches the net for her pics because I will not give her any.

I agree with AaronM .......... I don't even look at the pics or video myself.

Your site is not such a bad thing to show them. I have been known to show them the toni project but no way in hell I would show a model my content site.

I do not even give models a business card because they have my url on them.

Now that I have Rachel doing recruiting for me, I am setting up a seperate website and we will have special cards for models.

Because that is a mistake.

I do not give the girls a cd or any of the photos for all the reasons AaronM mentioned above.

Yeah, I find this to be a difficult situation too. I honestly don't have any problem with our girls having all the shots or whatever, but 90% of the time they use them for some big commercial project that they know they agreed not to use them for in the first place. I hate to be a prick and not give them, but I'm really tired of having the shots used on their boyfriends band CD covers and then handed back to me at shows in hopes of getting press coverage or whatever. It just seems like they always turn up in posters or on competitive sites or catalogs or whatever. I know I could go after them, but that sucks. I don't want to get all into that battle at all. It' just irritates the shit out of me.

When models start giving me cameras I will start giving them photos. Its a business arrangement - noting more nothing less.

We've had too many problems with giving them the raw images. We give them a dozen or so of the best at 640x480 with our companys URL on them.

Never have, never will. Cant be 100% sure that the model wont sell it to someone else, and putting it in the agreement is pratically worthless.

I have a very similar clause in my release to AaronM. If I am shooting the girl again and I know she wants to see some pics I will put a couple on my notebook to show her.

We even produce content under a different company name than what we sell it - seperate web site just for model recruiting. That way its unlikely they would ever even stumble across our work - except on client sites.

Why should I give them pictures. i paid them, I get them. If I want them to do a dp, they ask for more. They don't give me anything, neither do I.

What if she had her own site and wanted to use them exclusively for her own site?

I have no problem giving a model a pic or 2, and have occasionally seen a model using one of mine in her portfolio or even at an agent's site.

Good models collect pictures like jewelry. They are always looking for one that makes them look extra hot and can help bag some big $.

I don't share the animosity that a lot of people seem to have towards models. I treat them generously, and its generally returned.

Yes, I am pondering the exact same issue. I need to call her and I am still on the fence.

I've shot over 100 girls...maybe a handful actually asked me for pics. I'll give them one or two and they're happy. Some I have even given a full set...It doesn't happen often though.

But in general, I wouldn't give the girls any pics. And as a rule, I NEVER let them know where the pics will be posted...
