Car leaking a white milky fluid, any ideas? pics...
http://imgur.com/a/QGsDX
Noticed some greasy spots behind the tire, but no visible leaks.. Then yesterday it rained a lot, drove in it, and when I came home I noticed this puddle was developing, dripping off the mudflap behind the passenger side tire. Sorry for the shitty pics, only had my cellphone. What is this? |
if it leaks anything brown and sticky, give me a shout, yeah?
|
its salt(or ice melting chemicals) off the road... they splash up on your fenders behind your tires when you drive.. then it all drips on your floor when your stop.
|
third pic down, see how there is still some up on your fender(top center of photo)
|
Too early for there to be salt on the roads here, hasn't snowed yet, and it's only this one tire.. The other flaps were just dripping water.
|
maybe you forgot a gallon of milk in the trunk :1orglaugh j/k hell if i know stop by a muffler shop :2 cents:

Check your drive shaft or gaiters

That's quite normal. The Bangbus had it happen too...

This appears to be the handy work of a serial masturbator. Judging from the volume of fluid I would say he has had his eye on your vehicle for some time.

dripped down. Question : Has your car over heated recently on a long drive, or do you have to keep adding water to the radiator? Does the heat in your car work? |

It came...

No fluids in a car makes that so its foreign.
The closest thing I can think of that looks like that is the white crap that goes in your tire with a can of Fix-A-Flat. Since its coming from the mud flap, most likely you've run over something in the road and it accumulates and then drips down to make that puddle. |
if the vehicle has overheated something colud have cracked, when water mixes with oil it will turn a milky white like that and come out the exhaust. Could be a blown head gasket or cracked block. If the car is running fine and has not overheated then its proabably not that

:1orglaugh Blown head gasket is a long shot based on those pics but if his car is blowing white smoke and running hot them that's what it is. |
It means it's going to die soon :(

Probably Armorall that was sprayed on your fender
|
Any fluids stored in the trunk? If not, open the trunk and pull back the carpet and see if it is inside the trunk at all.
|
Yep..
Groceries broke a bottle of armor-all in the trunk. :winkwink: |
As long as it's not green and smelly you should be alright.

Did I mention saving $20 changing my own oil. :) That I should always do. Pretty easy $20. |
I was a mechanic in a previous life.
Take it to the shop. |
Jism.......

Usually that white liquid is very bad indicator / as long as we speak about cars, not a crazy dudes who have sex with exhaust pipes.../ and means that something big really needs to be changed - it wont be good if the oil is mixed up with that white liquid at all - that's the reason I'm asking for the position of the engine. Also there's a possibility that there's some condense - and it caused the appearing of that liquid - in all the cases you should visit the "car doctor" - car diagnostic should give the right idea to the situation. If the car is still in guarantee you may get it back to the shop - as some of the guys offered - and tell them to check the problem for you. Cheer, M. |
Jez that car is cuming !
