Car leaking a white milky fluid, any ideas? pics...

http://imgur.com/a/QGsDX

Noticed some greasy spots behind the tire, but no visible leaks.. Then yesterday it rained a lot, drove in it, and when I came home I noticed this puddle was developing, dripping off the mudflap behind the passenger side tire.

Sorry for the shitty pics, only had my cellphone.

What is this?

CurrentlySober 10-26-2011 03:12 PM

if it leaks anything brown and sticky, give me a shout, yeah?

Why 10-26-2011 03:15 PM

its salt(or ice melting chemicals) off the road... they splash up on your fenders behind your tires when you drive.. then it all drips on your floor when your stop.

Why 10-26-2011 03:16 PM

third pic down, see how there is still some up on your fender(top center of photo)

Socks 10-26-2011 03:18 PM

Too early for there to be salt on the roads here, hasn't snowed yet, and it's only this one tire.. The other flaps were just dripping water.

brassmonkey 10-26-2011 03:18 PM

maybe you forgot a gallon of milk in the trunk :1orglaugh j/k hell if i know stop by a muffler shop :2 cents:

The car doesn't store any fluids back there, the only thing really back there fluid wise is brake fluid in the brake line to that brake.

Nembrionic 10-26-2011 03:38 PM

That's quite normal. The Bangbus had it happen too...

This appears to be the handy work of a serial masturbator. Judging from the volume of fluid I would say he has had his eye on your vehicle for some time.

It just looks like something that tire picked up and slung onto the "mud flap" and
dripped down.

Question : Has your car over heated recently on a long drive, or do you have to
keep adding water to the radiator?

Does the heat in your car work?

no way dude its milk white. im thinking armor all or some shit hes spraying on his tires mixed with water hmm you might have a serious problem this can happen when coolant gets in your oil. might have a gasket thats no good. id take it to the doctor.

F-U-Jimmy 10-26-2011 04:13 PM

Fuck, i know exactly what that is !!!!!

PornMD 10-26-2011 04:16 PM

It came...

justinsain 10-26-2011 04:17 PM

No fluids in a car makes that so its foreign.

The closest thing I can think of that looks like that is the white crap that goes in your tire with a can of Fix-A-Flat.

Since its coming from the mud flap, most likely you've run over something in the road and it accumulates and then drips down to make that puddle.

famous 10-26-2011 04:25 PM

if the vehicle has overheated something colud have cracked, when water mixes with oil it will turn a milky white like that and come out the exhaust. Could be a blown head gasket or cracked block. If the car is running fine and has not overheated then its proabably not that

First you say "no way" and then you head right to where I'm going.

:1orglaugh

Blown head gasket is a long shot based on those pics but if his car is blowing white
smoke and running hot them that's what it is.

Spunky 10-26-2011 04:30 PM

It means it's going to die soon :(

Probably Armorall that was sprayed on your fender

Vjo 10-26-2011 05:46 PM

Any fluids stored in the trunk? If not, open the trunk and pull back the carpet and see if it is inside the trunk at all.

Socks 10-26-2011 06:01 PM

Yep..

Groceries broke a bottle of armor-all in the trunk. :winkwink:

marlboroack 10-26-2011 06:03 PM

As long as it's not green and smelly you should be alright.

:thumbsup As someone who just put his own muffler on and cut my own tailpipe with a hacksaw (to save a buck, $150-$200) I can gaurantee you there is nothing magical about cars.

Did I mention saving $20 changing my own oil. :) That I should always do. Pretty easy $20.

BIGTYMER 10-26-2011 09:06 PM

I was a mechanic in a previous life.

Take it to the shop.

What is this?

Where's the engine on that car - in back or in front ? What model it is ?
Usually that white liquid is very bad indicator / as long as we speak about cars, not a crazy dudes who have sex with exhaust pipes.../ and means that something big really needs to be changed - it wont be good if the oil is mixed up with that white liquid at all - that's the reason I'm asking for the position of the engine.
Also there's a possibility that there's some condense - and it caused the appearing of that liquid - in all the cases you should visit the "car doctor" - car diagnostic should give the right idea to the situation. If the car is still in guarantee you may get it back to the shop - as some of the guys offered - and tell them to check the problem for you.

Cheer,
M.
