you know, tom cruise has used a lot of stunt men over the years... why in gods name he chose to do his own for these stupid shots is beyond me...

sure he makes millions for these movies, but would he make a penny less if he didn't do this stunt? NO.

In spite of all the crap and rumours surrounding Tom Cruise, he's one of my favourite actors. They played the trailer for MI 4 before Moneyball and I'll definitely be catching it - it looks great.

The only thing I hate about him is that he's older than I am and looks 1,000 times better. Bastard.

As for doing his own stunts, anyone else catch his lap on Top Gear? He just goes for it.

Are you kidding? Man I would LOVE to do that. I LOVE heights and get an insane thrill from rides coasters and that free fall thing at Stratosphere Las Vegas. If I was an actor and they needed a stunt like this I would beg not to be replaced with a stuntman. Wow that looks like serious fun.

I've always found his and Camerons times on top gear suspicious. Two very big name americans come to top gear (the biggest names to do the track) and they get the top two places? In cars with manual clutches and the steering wheel on the "wrong side". Nah, i think it's more arse-kissing by the beeb than their skills.

Tom Cruise may be a complete fuckin nutcase in his personal life, but he's a great actor. Born on the Fourth of July was probably his best performance.

If he gets percentage of profits than YES. Some people might go to the movie just because they saw this thread and though "cool". Plus those "few" people would increase movie profits and if movie profits he might get better contract for the next one.
But of course I think he does that because it is cool, who of the adrenaline fans would not want to have an opportunity to do that?
