Big Gervais fan here.. I was disappointed in Life's Too Short
Huge fan of Ricky Gervais,
and last night I watched the first episode of his new work Life's Too Short with Warwick Davis. There were some funny moments, but I'm not sure why they adapted the "documentary" style shooting like they did originally in The Office. Would have preferred an Extra's format to this show. Anyways, it seems to me like the lead character Warwick Davis is trying too hard to emulate Ricky's exact style of line delivery.. now I know him and Steve wrote it, but still.. I wish Warwick would have tried to make it more his own.. Just feels like I'm watching Warwick impersonate Ricky is all.. and I was so excited about this show. Fuck. Anyone feel the same? |
no don't feel the same.

have not seen a show yet, but saw some clips which are pretty funny-
Warwick Davis is a top notch actor. |
I am starting to think of him as a one trick pony. Albeit a rich one.
Whatever he does, some David Brent mannerisms burst through from time to time. |

Thought it was shit.

that clip with depp was funny
|
I liked it, very funny.

Haven't watched...
|
The scene with Liam Neeson is hilarious

Next time don't put any hopes on a television show and you'll be just fine ...
|
It was ok.
But it would have worked better if Ricky Gervais was not in it. I love Ricky Gervais, but it meant some of the show was about him, and those bits did not seem to work. Warwick Davis script was Ricky Gervais speaking. This meant it sounded odd. An example was when he was with his wife saying how he could have got a younger wife. It sounded too much like Ricky Gervais speaking. |
