Well, "she" is a "he" (and you all know him), and although my competitor in a way, he is a friend of many many years that shouldn't be fired over something like this.

His only mistake was not writing "this was all a joke" at the end, instead of using a big word like "satire" which was obviously missed (or misunderstood) by some of the article's critics, fanning a flame that didn't need to be there.

I'm only sticking my big nose in because some of my articles / positions have been equally misrepresented or misunderstood, so I understand how "unfair" all the commotion is.

No writer can please all readers.

I'm often surprised that most people here even seems able to read at all, let alone comprehend what they just read. Understanding satire isn't even on the map for many around here.

Also, the literary analogy with Swift's "A modest proposal" is most definitely wasted on most people here, who for the most part have probably never read it and even less so understood it.
