Declare War On MSG - List of food ingredients that contain MSG (Monosodium Glutamate)

Ok, I am on some real bad drugs right now. I got two Big Macs using a 2 for 1 coupon. I never thought about MSG. I decided I felt so good lately, (I do all my own cooking from scratch most of the time) they couldnt hurt me and would try them one last time. I have noticed the bad effects before.

So right now after 2 Big Macs in 2 days and extra sleeping (a side affect) I feel totally dumbed down like I lost some brain cells. Which I know is the main thing MSG does to us. It literally kills brain cells due to chemically exciting them to death.

I feel mentally logey.

http://www.sqvirtual.com/img/burger-king-loves-msg.jpg

Their ingredients sounds reasonable. After all, they put all their "good nutrition" on the boxes now. High in fat, yes but, "two 100% all beef patties", pickles, onions, cheese and white flour in the buns. So what could be so bad? MSG.

So I look up and see that McD's is full of MSG in almost all items but for sure in Big Macs espec in the special sauce. THAT is what has been making me feel like "mental crap" after eating Big Macs.

A bunch more fast food outfits use MSG as well espec KFC with Burker King the second worst. I also noticed BK really fucks me up mentally.

"Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, every restaurant, even the sit down ones like TGIF, Chilis', Applebees and Denny's use MSG in abundance.

It is also heavily linked to obesity."

So if you are like many of the masses and are walking around in a catatonic, dumbed down state of mind, now you know why.

cat·a·ton·ic (adj): marked psychomotor disturbance that may involve stupor or mutism, negativism, rigidity, purposeless excitement, and inappropriate or bizarre posturing.

It might be to my advantage to have everyone in adult dumbed down LOL but that wouldn't be nice. :) So avoid the MSG totally as I plan to do. It is some bad shit and really does mess you up mentally.

Boycott the food conglomerates who knowingly hurt your mental health to squeeze out more profits.

Here's to natural living and real foods. :thumbsup

EddyTheDog 11-24-2011 03:29 AM

I would question a few items on those lists...

Gelatin for example.

marlboroack 11-24-2011 03:31 AM

I tripped balls on this shit before by accident because i ate so much of it.

Vjo 11-24-2011 03:49 AM

Yep just c&p on the lists.

I do feel real druglike bad effects from MSG. I avoid it at the groc store but never thought it would be heavily in almost all fast foods.

I also broke a jar all over hell in the kitchen (dropped it) while on these "bad drugs" last 24 hours. Mainly cause I was logey and thus, too lazy to hold it right. But that is a bit subjective. :)

Also if you eat good foods with it that doesnt help. As it is like a drug (kind of like a barbiturate or downer mixed with a trace of pcp, seriously :) it sort of jumbles your mind and confuses things) until it leaves your system.

hehe The worst is the asian rice mixes. That shit will put you out for sure. :1orglaugh

It's in a lot of stuff. Lays went MSG free which was good. Old Dutch (is that nationwide) still uses MSG in all their flavored chips. Got to be a ton in them.

AllAboutCams 11-24-2011 04:13 AM

msg is only bad for you if you can not tolerate it

NYRangers 11-24-2011 04:28 AM

I'm with you 100%

I didnt notice groggyness from McDonalds until about age forty.

It isnt a ton you feel it, you could function but it makes life.. less pleasant. I was prob affected younger as well but figured it was just a cloudy day (between my ears). :) Maybe they are using more now.

I have a pretty tough system and only MSG really affects me where I can say "for sure". Nitrates.. they say are bad.. and they (ham, hotdogs, ect) seem to put me out too, but that could be from lack of nutrition hehe but that's another thread. :)

scottybuzz 11-24-2011 05:09 AM

no need to start a war, just live a healthy balanced diet, what is hard to understand about that?
if your going to have fast food, have it once a month.

its not rocket science.

i had a burger king two days ago after 6 months and loved it.

scottybuzz 11-24-2011 05:13 AM

no one is forcing you to have msg so just dont have it.

The "declare war" was just theatrics. :)

I am trying to avoid it and normally do. I never realized it was in almost all fast food. Though I should of I suppose.

A better title might be, "Fast Food is Full of MSG" That was more the point of this thread.

I always mess the title cause I do things fast and never know where I am really going for sure.

Point was to share the list. 2nd one is pretty good. Some of us want to avoid it. :)

LOL Hehe I declared war on people for 99% of the time. But no man is an island. :) Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Yanks and the world. :) Lot to be thankful for as always.

T-Day seems to be historicly kind of crappy for sups :( but the weekend after always does good :thumbsup

Not to mention MSG is a surefire way of slowing down / screwing up your metabolism. I avoid it whenever possible, which means no more bullion cubes, pre-made combination spices/flavoring, and plenty of sauces. A lot of canned goods contain MSG, too, but not all brands of each product, so there's still choice there.

cykoe6 11-24-2011 06:07 AM

I like MSG. It tastes good.

Barefootsies 11-24-2011 06:15 AM

We now have a firm grasp of the obvious.

Indeed messed my metabolism up totally. It basicly slows it down.

Indeed they sneek it in through other names which is why you need the list.

You feel best cooking from scratch and since I do that, I want none sneaking in from unknown sources. :)

PastorSinAlot 11-24-2011 06:50 AM

man thanks so much. My doc told me to stay away from this shit, I always thought Buger king and Mickey had it, I would get sick when I use to go to them.

Fletch XXX 11-24-2011 06:59 AM

Vjo 11-24-2011 07:11 AM

I always remeber my dad would sprinkle the Adolph's meat tenderizer on everything. This was late 60's. It works and tenderizes big time but then the number 1 ingr is MSG.

Each to their own for sure. It's true it makes things taste good. I love that asian rice. :) If I felt no diff after, I wouldn't care and would prob eat it. But, I always feel like a tinch of low grade pcp was just slipped to me after. All I want to do is sleep :(

That list was from the OWS movement. :1orglaugh Very liberal.

I should have linked the lists to the sources. Oh well blame it on MGS again and now I am way to unmotivated to go look. Another symptom. :) or to change that from MGS to MSG :)

Causing this country and the world gazillions as Charley sleeps on the job after going to Dong Kong Express! :helpme

When we consume orally at least our body has some kind of chance to realize it's crap and filter it out, but when it's injected directly through our skin, bypassing the mucous membranes; that's like dropping a goldfish directly into a small tank of piranhas :upsidedow

maybe so but realize when its used, its usually because the food you are eating is bland cheap crap that they need to spice up.

Most food is cheap, bland crap. Try eating something without salt or sugar or pepper if it needs it. The best steak in the world doesn't taste nearly as well as it should without at least salt. Salt is usually pretty bad for you also, but nowhere would i either say or agree that you shouldn't put it on anything.

umami a.k.a monosodium glutamate a.k.a 5th basic taste is big in the east :thumbsup.

a Tiny bit of it can do wonders (like 1 pinch for a big pot of soup), but just as with salt, it should be minimized. balance, people! :)
