Web Guru Recommendations...
 

Which Web Guru do you recommend that us tiny webmasters follow and listen to try and educate as well as gain some inspiration for ourselves? Any solid big fish out there that know what they are doing enough to follow them and practice what they preach?

Don't listen to anyone on gfy, they don't have a clue.

Wow this thread quickly turned into a sarcastic waste of my time to post....any serious ppl out there that are truly business minded and willing to share some valuable recommendations?

I don't think you should ever listen to anyone who claims they are a guru.

You need to go off and do your own thing. Do your own tests, your own experiments, and make friends. With your friends you can share ideas and results, you'll actually learn a lot and it's unlikely that they will feed you bad information.

Spend more time testing and less time reading. As your own knowledge grows, you'll be able to see through the BS of self proclaimed gurus.

In porn? No. Porn's closed. Porn's full. You won't see a fucking soul here share anything for fear that you'll reduce their income.

If you want to follow mainstream developers and then try and apply their concepts and ideas to the porn industry then go and look on a mainstream site.

Shap made some good posts you may want to read. He has retired so he doesn't feel a need to keep all of his knowledge secret. I doubt anyone could argue that he wasn't extremely successful.

It's not adult, obviously, but Chet Holmes' book Ultimate Sales Machine is pretty valuable.

Mostly shitty responses in this thread but here are a few for you:

GFY's educational series (it's in the forum index)
YNOT.com university (I think this is an exception to the rules as YNOT is linked on here a lot)
sin20.com podcasts (they stopped broadcasting as their sponsors were unreliable but the host does a great job, listen to all of them as they are all still relevant).

There is still money in porn but it takes a little more strategic thinking and bothering on your part to make it happen.
