Joe Arpaio's ass is on fire

:1orglaugh

Maybe he can spend few years in his own tent camp now.

Quote:

Apart from the civil rights probe, a federal grand jury also has been investigating Arpaio's office on criminal abuse-of-power allegations since at least December 2009 and is specifically examining the investigative work of the sheriff's anti-public corruption squad.

I've been obsessed with Lock Up Raw lately on MSNBC and they did an Extended Stay one at Maricopa County and had Sheriff Joe on it quite a bit. I love him.

The funny thing is that they showed how the inmates in tent city responded to him. It's a love/hate relationship. They hate him for the conditions they serve their time in but then ask him for his autograph with full sincerity when he walks by.

Got to be it if you say so. Must've started this before he even became president.

The report, obtained by The Associated Press ahead of its release, is a result of the U.S. Justice Department's three-year investigation of Arpaio's office amid complaints of racial profiling and a culture of bias at the agency's top level.

She was talking about your cousins, not mexicans. 3/4 of them guys were black. I saw that episode. :1orglaugh

About 14 years ago I spent a year and a half as a reserve deputy sheriff in Maricopa County. Old Joe was a real asshole to work with, even as a volunteer, but on a policy level I loved his ideas, and so do the people in his county. He wins by about 60% every time. Meanwhile he has been investigated and tried constantly by every criminal advocate group in the country, and nothing has ever stuck.

In short, I don't think his "ass is on fire" in any way, nor do I think he gives a crap what outside agencies think of him, and neither do his constituents.

When our company did the "Vacancy" neon sign that hangs on one of the guard towers, I tried to get a free pair of pink undies from him but, he had limited pairs at that time and was unable to hand a pair over.

That is one place you do not want to be....:2 cents:

He was killed 2 days later and every thing was put back.

"An analysis by the Maricopa County Office of Management and Budget, completed in September, 2010, found Arpaio has misspent almost $100 million in taxpayer dollars over the previous 5 years."

"As an example in one of Arpaio's latest stunts, and at a time when there were 12 unsolved execution-style murders in the county, he staged a massive prostitution round-up publicity stunt.

This two month "sting operation" involved over 350 deputies that were pulled off other investigative details and patrol that resulted in 80 cases that have all been declined for prosecution by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Nicholas Hentoff of Phoenix wrote in a letter to the Editor of the Arizona Republic" If Joe Arpaio continues to spend the county's scarce law enforcement dollars on chasing consenting adults engaged in private sexual activity, while child murders and sexual assaults remain unsolved, he should be the one to explain to the next grieving mother why her child's killer has not been caught, prosecuted and put in prison. And the taxpayers should send him a message by electing a new sheriff who doesn't treat public funds as his private public relations piggybank."

"Lawsuits brought against Arpaio by employees, former employees, inmates, and the families of dead inmates have cost the county millions and Arpaio has misled the public about the cost to taxpayers of lawsuits.

The case of Scott Norberg, who died in jail, is a good example. Arpaio has frequently said the $8.25 million settlement cost the county nothing and was covered by insurance. What he does not say is that, at the time of the settlement, the county had a $1 million deductible.

Because of these lawsuits, the deductible for the sheriff's office insurance coverage has increase from $1 million to $5 million per incident."

Sounds like a real winner too me. :1orglaugh

Its just a matter of time before he gets caught supplying meth to one of those hookers in exchange for some spanking and bdsm role playing.
Isn't there "sheriff of the year" in AZ who's spending some quality time in jail named after himself? I remember reading something about it few weeks ago.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 12-15-2011 04:39 PM

Yeah he's great... if you like corrupt racist assholes who steal from taxpayers.
