Wire Act applies only to bets on a "sporting event or contest"

Hummm

Didn't they go around taking domains not to long ago?

yes, Obama is the reason you can't load your online gambling account with your credit card anymore. he's the reason Amscott asks you where did you get your money and what do you plan to spend it on every time you load your card.

Klen 12-26-2011 02:15 PM

Well it was only matter of time,i am not sure why did they ban gambling first time. It's not like it helped to stop people gambling.

GFED 12-26-2011 02:20 PM

the reason is some sort of anti-terrorist/money laundering act. i believe it's the same reason visa withdrew support for epassporte and killed it.

Wrong, it was Bush that signed the Port Security act of 2006 which made online gambling illegal. Fucking tools put it in there because who's going to vote against Port Security.

Right, Bush signed it, but wasn't it just within the last year or 2 they went and closed down all the sites and stuff?

I am wondering if this will do the same as Medical Pot.

We will not make it a federal crime, we need the money, then Oh wait we need something for the feds to do, and send out letters shutting them down..

Yeah, but as I understand it, they started the investigations under Bush then continued under Obama.

So it's still illegal unless the states want to make online lotteries? Is that right?

Redrob 12-26-2011 05:18 PM

I understood the proposal is for states to expand their gambling offerings.

That's what the Act says but make sure you check case law as well.
