Seriously. You always say "It will never happen" but you never have warning. A few months back our town was on under a mandatory evacuation order due to a train full of propane was on fire. I didn't have to evacuate, but the neighbors across the street did. Makes you think.

Back at the Y2K thing, I knew a guy in LA who had a business to verify accounts and credit cards. People sent him info and he acted as a "trusted" agent who would be an expert witness. For a measly $500 he would secure your money wouldn't be lost. He said he made almost $100k :1orglaugh

I have guns and some minimal outdoor gear. I know how to hunt, fish, where to get fresh water, and how to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. With the Appalachian Trail a short hike away I would be just fine.

With one problem, the elderly family members. If there was a need to stay consistently mobile, there would be some tough decisions that needed to be made in the course of an ultimate ITSHTF scenario.

Wipes is what I'm stocking up on.

Wipes are going to be new gold, they are moist and gentle to the touch. Those who will wipe with newspapers will pay whatever they have to for WIPES.

If it does happen I know one thing; those who have bitched the loudest against gun ownership and been critical of the USA's "gun mentality" will be the ones wishing the most that they had one.
