you could host a domain and put you're stuff on the server just as easy, with a host that does BU of your data... then have full access at all time... that and good BU at home will do the job for sure...

BM that is a good idea using my own server. I have a NAS drive at my office and at home. I just wanted something completely off site.

Have you used any software that you recommend to use with one of our servers?

Thanks.

I use http://www.backupbear.com and http://www.crashplan.com

What software will constantly do incremental back ups when you are not using your bandwidth? That's the part of carbonite I like.

Yes DWB, please ask Jabba The Hut about his experience with Carbonite. Maybe we can get Han Solo to chime in as well. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

write script or have someone write script... it's nice to have data off site for sure... unfortunately the data I need to archive is HDV, going on the net isn't really an option.

books etc is on a sperate drives and in a fire proof safe

edgeprod 01-21-2012 11:15 AM

Avoid Carbonite, a client machine tanked, and we were able to recover 98% of the back-up, the important stuff was that missing 2%

The price might be right, but do you put a $10 helmet on a $10 head?

Give these guys a call, Rsync.net :thumbsup
