I'm screwing around with flash lately and was wondering if you knew of any decent tutorials on how to create flash banners with video clips like are seen all over the tubes?
|
noone?
How about a simple video loop in flash with a clickTAG parameter? |

no one likes when you tell them to buy a book and think everything can be done with a simple click and tutorial. so i just made a passing comment. :thumbsup |
You wont find one, flash tutorials are rare.
I spent about a day once, trying to work something out. All I had to do was type 'stop' so the video played only once. Nothing online to help at all. |
Here some tuts that I used. Its pretty easy (just use AS2), the fla calls for an external flv and on top is a png file listed. The whole region is clickable and using the clickTAG

Depending on how you learn best, theres a few tools around that will 'unpack/decrypt/rip out... * i cant find the word im looking for, most flash files so you can see how it was all put together.
What it taught me was this.. flash is hard. Id sooner learn Html5/edge ... |

what would flash do that html5 wouldn't in terms of a banner?

So there are probably easier ways to do this but I will risk laughter and teasing to try and help out with a very basic example!
open up after effects and edit the video to your liking, add effects or change the speed, etc. I saw some cool ones that had some time remapping done to them, a tv screen type filter on it, etc. http://i.imgur.com/REu62.jpg This is a banner I made for something, just pretend its a video =x .................................................. ............................. After your video is edited and saved to a proper video format, open up adobe media encoder. Drag the file into the app and save it as an flv. Here is an example I chose, matching sources properties as an flv file. http://i.imgur.com/3UHRu.jpg Edit: you can encode for flv using after effects, I personally prefer saving it as a video in ae and converting using this tool. .................................................. ............................. Now, go into flash and open up the component inspector. double click or drag and drop the flv playback component (comes with flash) to bring it into your canvas in flash. http://i.imgur.com/bN73Y.jpg Make sure it is selected and open up the properties tab. Click on content path and find your flv file, make sure its in the same place you plan to store it on the server. Click on skin and choose none so there is no playback ui in your way. http://i.imgur.com/OA7mB.jpg .................................................. ............................. click off of the component and click properties, on size, hit edit > match contents to make the flash movie the same size as the imported video. http://i.imgur.com/N9hpg.jpg .................................................. ............................. |
Add a new layer and design your ad on top of this video. (box with text or animation, etc.)
http://i.imgur.com/Bps3R.jpg .................................................. ............................. Add a new layer and create a white box, change the fill alpha to 0. http://i.imgur.com/gI3lf.jpg .................................................. ............................. Use this tutorial that shows you how to do basic linking using as2 and as3 on the white, transparent box you just made. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/113171 or use the link posted above for the tracking link and you should be good Best of luck |

based on the browser. :helpme |
i'd just go on one of the freelancer sites and put it up as a job for a Flash coder, show them a sample of what you want - nobody here other than a handful of coders knows jack shit about anything really. there's a reason the bigger programs have cooler stuff - they have in house coders.
ignore the Indians, just had another shitty experience with one. they will all tell you they can do anything when in reality they have sub-standard skills. i cross my fingers when i post jobs that some Eastern Europeans and North Americans make bids. |

The state of HTML5 video I would love to know how to make an HTML5 video banner though. Thanks barcodes for posting your tutorial. |

To what others were saying regarding flash vs html 5, you need to know how to play with the canvas tag and maybe sprites, etc. Im not a pro at it. Here is a tutorial to make a flash type ad using canvas (no video). http://www.html5trends.com/tutorials...n-ad-in-html5/ If you can grasp this though you may find a way to add it in there like a layer possibly, Idk for sure. Also you can make some html video and have the swf file as an option if available., along with the ogg, webm, mp4 |
