Web Designers / Coders - What do you use?

I'm looking for a replacement for Dreamweaver to edit my sites and code.

I also use Notepad ++, but I'm looking for something more.

What have you had good luck with or love to use?

$cout 01-30-2012 02:01 PM

Dreamweaver 3.0 or just Notepad

raymor 01-30-2012 02:02 PM

harvey 01-30-2012 02:11 PM

Thanks guys and gals.

I guess I already have the right tools, just need to get better at using them. :)

candyflip 01-30-2012 03:25 PM

If you're an OSX user check out Coda.

loreen 01-30-2012 03:27 PM

Photoshop and Dreamweaver :)

Zyzz 01-30-2012 04:33 PM

OS X: vim, textmate, espresso, bbedit, coda is a good one to.

Win: eclipse, netbeans, notepad++

sixsax 01-30-2012 04:35 PM

Notepad++ / Emacs. Hate Wysiwyg's.

TheSenator 01-30-2012 04:38 PM

I use Linux VI.

PowerCum 01-30-2012 04:51 PM

I work on Linux. This is what I use:

console -> vim, mcedit, jed (not jedit. here is the url: http://www.jedsoft.org/jed/ )
GUI --> zend studio (v5.5 because new versions suck), jedit and in very rare cases, eclipse.

nm_ 01-30-2012 05:11 PM

a few that i've used / liked:

phpStorm, sublime text 2, notepad++

CYF 01-30-2012 05:11 PM

Coda
pico/nano

I just use dreamweaver most of the time.

Coldfusion builder is nice too but I am assuming you are using php.
I think it's pretty much Eclipse, which you may like.

A lot of php developers are enjoying codeigniter.

I think I used notepad ++ when I was in college a while ago doing some kind of software programming courses i think? I don't remember if that was it but it did the job.

Best of luck

rogueteens 01-30-2012 07:14 PM

Frontpage :)

Horny Dude 01-30-2012 09:08 PM

UltraEdit hands down the best for hand coding.

Fuck yeah code igniters. When not igniting code, I rock MS Frontpage '97.

Keeping it old school.

Textpad is all I use. Color codes, validates and provides lots of cross-reference tools for coding anything from html to php to javascript. Search and replace functionality is top notch too.

FlorianPC 01-31-2012 01:33 AM

Textmate or Coda on Mac and UltraEdit on Windows (don't know if they also have a mac app)

pornmasta 01-31-2012 05:43 AM
