I'm into canon, but never used nikon, so couldn't compare.... It does looks like an amazing bit of kit :thumbsup

CIVMatt 02-07-2012 11:48 AM

Used Nikon for years, but their handling of white balance is shit compared to Canon, had to sell all my gear to switch over to get away from post production nightmares

pornmasta 02-07-2012 01:47 PM

36M= overkill

yea, i know.
i am already searching the net for hours :)
a question is....i am afraid it will be to much work to remove the morie from the pics. I use a lot of sexy lingerie and cloting in the beginning of the set.

On the other hand, i really like the options of more details and sharper images, it looks like those super expensive MF cameras.

Which one will you get ?

SmutHammer 02-07-2012 05:06 PM

skimmed through there but didn't see anything saying they fixed the colors and made it so the images were no longer dull looking?

Canon has the new 5D coming out soon, I'll wait for that.

It's nice that the people of Nikon can take good pictures with it. Like I have said before 90% of the people who use them cannot. I had a thread about this, yet nobody would put their Nikon pics into it to be compared..... strange huh?

Edit: Just seen the link you posted. there are some very nice and sharp pics there. as of color, don't the people seem a bit orange to you?

The Blacks look Great :thumbsup

Don't get me wrong, Some people are able to get very nice shots from a Nikon. Most I have seen cannot. why the need for 36 mega pixals? are they trying to target a crowd that doesn't know much about camera's?

If your a Nikon user, Great for you :thumbsup what matters is that you like it. My response is mainly because the coment about Canon having their work cut out for them.... the new 1D is only 16 mega pixals. There is much more to a camera than mega pixals. or everyone now a days would shoot HQ image sets with their phones.....lol

Did'nt really order the new one, because of the added mp's. My D700 has high mileage on it and it's time for a new one, rather have a newer model, than what I have. I would of much preffered increased low light capability, instead of video, or mega pix. But it is, what it is :winkwink:

Ye, agree about the orange, but it's all about post processing work, nothing to do with Nikon or canon.
i can show you much more different links, and you will see everywhere that the pics looks different, and the color looks different.
For example: http://johnwrightphoto.tumblr.com/
I will saw another one, that was complitly without the orange color, jus't can't find now, i will find later.

Many time i shoot together with canon photogs and they like the Nikon colors.
Next shoot, i can do you a little test :)
I will take a same pic with nikon and canon and you will try to guess which one.
And it will not easy. (after raw post processing).

That sounds like a cool idea, take the same picture with Nikon and Canon, white balance each camera. and post them exactly how they come out. you shouldn't have to edit the colors in your pictures, we are in porn, average 80 pics per set, It would be way to much work to color correct them all, and a pain in the ass to set up a custome batch mode each time.

hm...i always shoot in raw , same are canon photographers that works with me.

maybe this is the reason why you don't like Nikon colors.
Some Nikon cameras (not all buy the way), have a very "natural" JPG, in case you will not change the setting buy yourself. (add contrast, saturation and so on).
They changed it now by the way, on the latest bodys it's not that way.
But for me it's never was a problem, because i shoot row, i feel like, i have much more control that way. (porn, so what? ) :)

always interesting to see the Nikon and Canon battle unfold. some very good products.

I like Nikon, but 36 megapixel camera is too much in image size for me, my images dont need to be larger then 4000 res.

Mine as well, but when you shoot at 36, you got more details in the image.
So, after you will resize it to your resolution, you will get better results.
