My bounce rate for http://femdomdestiny.com was 24% average. Few days ago, I've launched site where all content is hosted at my site and I've added videos section, but my rate went to 55%

Any reasonable explanation?

A few days isn't enough time for a true test of stats but off hand I would say if there was an issue grumpy is probably right about page loading issues. Nothing makes a surfer turn away faster than a page that takes to long to load or one that spams them with a bunch of ads.

Well I don't know is it is slower. I've rearanged my site to be faster and better optimized. But you both guys are referring to same issue. Is it loading slow for you?

And I I am just looking at google analytics, with a new site,it is loading twice faster or even more.

I went to your site, it was pretty slow. Once I got there I was not surprised that you would have a high bounce rate. All that text in the center is terrible. It may be good spider bait, but as far as attracting a customer, not so much.

Completely same concept was used for years. Acctualy, this is copy of old site,on cms now, so it is not probelm there I guess.

Yea, takes like 5-6 seconds to even see anything for me and I'm on 100mb/s fiber from Sweden.

6 sec here on 40 mb but as mentioned earlier, speed is reduced compared to old site that had 24 % bounce rate and looked completely same like this one.

yep I am. I just saw a white page for 6 seconds then your site started appearing.

If a page takes any longer to load then 1 second you are losing surfers big time

so what to do to get 1 sec load on page of this size

what is a good load time? tested one of mine 1.39s.

Buy any bulk traffic when the bounce rate went up?

It's almost definitely a load time issue when the time spent on page increases in conjunction wwith a sharp increase in bounce rate. Those aare the people that waited!
I have a semi-related question.
How do you fix a slow load time from a particular location? I check pingdom quite a bit and have noticed that the load is often much slower from 1 of the 4 locations that they test. Kind of an important location too.

He went from 24% to 55%. 55% is probably not even that bad when compared to the thousands and thousands of shallow sites out there, but that's a pretty steep drop.

Nope,it was 24 or similar for years. You can see print screens from randomly taken previous periods. and new one that is after website relaunch. My goal was to make bounce rate even better and force people spend more time on my site. Because of that,I am hosting all content on my site so they load it from there. I've also added video section. Design and organisation are completely same as on old site and load time is now reduced compared to previous periods with better bounce rate.

I did this once before and it was because I fucked up the analytics code on some new sub pages. It screwed my SEO too and I lost rank. Its obvious, I know.. but even though the person entered instead of leaving, w/out the code tracking.. google saw it as a bounce.
