I saw Hunger Games today.

Narnia, Spy Kids, Lost, Terra Nova, Predators + extremely bad cameraman's work... guess the movie... right : Hunger Games.

CaptainHowdy 03-28-2012 07:55 AM

What did you expect from a children's movie??

Lukke 03-28-2012 07:59 AM

Pretty boring for me.

Sid70 03-28-2012 08:10 AM

I think its totally fucked up, they should have NOT bring this violence level for the kids...

Kevin Marx 03-28-2012 08:49 AM

Many shows/movies that are pimped for the "child" age group are very much adult content, but they have "children" as the primary characters.

Glee, on television, is something I typically don't even want my 17 year old watching. The musical aspect of it is nice, but the soap opera aspect of it and the points they try to push are way over the top for public television.

I've read the 3 Hunger Games books and there's a definite subtext to the stories; However, the stories were aimed at the teen demographic.

I honestly felt that my mind envisioned a much more graphic portrayal than the movie even got close to and I applaud them for that. It could have been a MAJOR bloodbath, but then they wouldn't have gotten their PG-13 rating.

People shouldn't be addressing how the story is so violent, rather they should be more worried about how a society devolved into such a state and decry that. The greatest way to get people to submit to the will of oppressors is to instill the proper amount of fear. Using kids as the gladiators seems like a very effective way to achieve such means.

stephane76 03-28-2012 09:09 AM

saw it last Friday, what a waste of time...

John-ACWM 03-28-2012 09:44 AM

I'll still see it, looked entertaining from the trailer. Goes with the popcorn I guess.

PastorSinAlot 03-28-2012 09:50 AM

kids killing kids any type of entertainment is fuck up

Far-L 03-28-2012 10:21 AM

People that want the ultra-violence should stick with Battle Royal then...

Agree wholeheartedly! :thumbsup

Stephane.. if you haven't checked it out already, give John Carter a go.. it's a totally freaking awesome movie !!!

TrustCash 03-28-2012 10:34 AM

A washe up version of this classic!

slapass 03-28-2012 10:44 AM

I was amazed at how cheap they did it. Jerky camera work to hide the lack of backgrounds etc and then outfitting everyone with North Face gear was just nuts. It was poorly done and the book is great.

:2 cents::2 cents:

I still didn't find that movie half as disturbing as anyone who recommended it to me, but it was pretty good.

Still reminds me heavily of battle royale. Didn't realize they just gave hunger games a pg13 rating. All these shitty teen trilogy books need to die because they keep giving scifi and medieval fantasy type books and movies a bad name. Nerds need to take it back already

this planet has been immersed in violence since the beginning, it's not worse now, it's actually a bit better if anything. Not by very much though...

I was so pissed when I heard about Hunger Games because I'm a devoted Battle Royal fan, and it makes me angry that people only find out about this one after HG. But what I love is the book Battle Royal, after you read it you realize that the movie actually sucks. Everyone who is interested in this kind of plot should read BR

This video Hunger Games is not science-fiction or entertainment but a blueprint for what the controlfreaks are planning.
